    Mattresses aargh

10,000 years ago, the '70s & '80s I sold furniture & bedding in my family's store in Massachusetts. I always hated mattresses and box springs! You never knew what was inside of them! Things haven't changed all that much today. Sure, companies can create catchy websites, smooth lingo, enticing...

    Vintage Jenn-Air Range

Mine came with the house, guesstimating 1990. She had some problems, control panel was rebuilt years ago. If & when we have to replace, the counter will need to be replaced.

    Another microwave problem!

My still sick Quasar oven Don't mean to be a noodge, but just in case someone happens to float through here & missed my plea back in November, I thought I'd leave this post & get it out of the weeds. I've still got my baby downstairs & I don't want to throw it out. If anyone knows anybody in...

Time Capsule Apartment In Manchester, New Hampshire

My grandmother's kitchen also had a pantry with a built-in ironing board. She also had her washing machine in the pantry, would pull the discharge hose across the narrow space into the sinkI

Time Capsule Apartment In Manchester, New Hampshire

The narrating chap isn't an expert when speculating on when this and that was bought or installed. The dining room fixture is hardly 60s. Have to admit, though it might make things a bit tougher when cooking, gotta dig the pantry with the sink, separate from the rest of the kitchen.

    Another microwave problem!

Looks quite bleak . . . . Finally found some time to open up the oven. Of course I was hoping to find some piece laying there broken, but no such luck. I unscrewed a few things, but nothing changed. I'm at a loss to find someone capable to repair this in my area. I guess I'll look a bit more...

    Another microwave problem!

Thanks David! That was a fascinating watch. I'm not the least bit equipped to do what you do. If only Alabama wasn't so far from Minnesota. I will take a look at the connections that have to do with the door, but I fear the worst. Thank you again!!

    Another microwave problem!

Don't worry John . . . . . . . . I ain't giving up yet!! Like I said, I'll open her up this weekend, but not sure I'll be able to discern anything. I did a bit of googling in search of repair shops & the like, but that kind of shoppe/person seems long gone.

    Another microwave problem!

Hi John! You had me at screwball!! Thanks oh so very much for the input! This problem has happened sporadically in the past, but would occur & then return to normal. Like a hiccup. Of course I keep hoping this time was a hiccup too, but I don't think so. I haven't taken it off the shelf &...

    Another microwave problem!

Oh no! I was here a year ago with a problem regarding my beloved (I mean that) Quasar microwave oven. Last years problem was brilliantly fixed with a simple fuse and all has been well, until today. When I attempt to turn it on, all I get is a "click." The touch-pad still works, by which I mean...

What's the deal with microwaves rusting so fast?

Yikes! Rusting microwaves! Guess I should be oh so grateful that my 45 year old Quasar (with no rust) which broke, was brought back to life by the brilliant recommendations from the folks here! 😀 Most grateful!!!

    Clock Repair

Hey RP2813 Thanks! I LOVE that you found out the clock's backstory. It was in a bathroom in an estate sale in Toledo, OH late 80s, early 90s. Though I put out feelers regarding getting the clock back off, a Reddit thread brought me the answer. Now I'm going to give a repair a try. I'll report...

    Clock Repair

Greetings! After my wonderful experience with the old Quasar microwave oven I made a note to pop back in & peruse. I'm getting very close to diving into something I've never done & have no natural inclination for- fixing a clock. I had this clock/radio at work & the clock got wonky, moving, but...

    REQUIEM FOR A MICROWAVE OVEN?

@chetlaham- Thanks!! @panasonicvac- It's over 20 years ago & all I can recall is maybe the base was a reddish/maroon color. Beige too. Might the bags been F & G? I always delighted in that. Really though, it's been s o long ago.

    REQUIEM FOR A MICROWAVE OVEN?

All's well that ends well? Took her cover off again & popped over to Home Depot. I'm going to presume that what I've bought is the right thing. It better be because it's a bit of a pain getting it down & I'm done!! Again, thanks for the priceless advise & help. Panasonicvac- I had a Panasonic...
