New Old Stock 358277 Water Valve

Do you know where the code is on the package? I'll post it. Valve is already in the machine, however the box was sealed.

    Resurrection of the Whirlpools

Welcome. I wouldn't mind having this exact washer either. 3 speed motors complimented direct drives perfectly. With ATC, DAs, soak, prewash, half tub PP cool down and auto second rinse you had everything you needed for laundry day.

New Old Stock 358277 Water Valve

"Old" Valve... The solenoid slips right off with no force. What a joke.

New Old Stock 358277 Water Valve

Thanks for the advice! I tested and installed the new valve. Hopefully the holes I bored out aren't to big- the screws were really lose but not so much when the valve was in between them. The water drops you see on the floor are from the hoses being purged, not from the valve or rubber hose...

2015 Speed Queen Washer Model AWNE82SP113TW01

358277 Energy Conserving Ok, so, I just received a new old stock 358277 valve. It is indeed 50/50.     The sticker inside mentions that this yellow valve replaces a 60% hot and 40% cold valve with a 50% hot 50 % cold.

New Old Stock 358277 Water Valve

Is it safe to use a never used water valve from 1985? My fear is that the rubber inside may have dried up or the plastic piston casing may have become brittle. I don't want either to crack and cause a leak or flood.      Ok to install and leave under pressure 24/7?

    Hot Wash Cold Rinse Cycle?

Programmed Cycle Alright, so I came up with this fabric convention with companion wash and rinse temp:     Heavy Duty = HOT / WARM   Normal =  WARM / WARM   Permanent press = HOT / COLD   Casuals = WARM / COLD   Delicate = COLD / COLD   Knits = COLD / WARM                  ...

    Hot Wash Cold Rinse Cycle?

Not knowing what to do with hot / cold I ditched it and went simple:             Heavy Duty = Hot / Warm   Normal = Warm / Warm   Permanent Press = Warm / Cold   Delicate = Cold / Cold     However, thinking about this some more, especially with the possibility of permanent...

    Hot Wash Cold Rinse Cycle?

John, I've been thinking about that. Perhaps permanent press would probably indeed be better suited with a hot wash cold rinse. Which then leads me to ask what to call warm / cold. Hot wash / Warm rinse = Heavy Duty & White Cottons Warm Wash / Warm Rinse = Normal & Colored Cottons...

    Hot Wash Cold Rinse Cycle?

Mark, Cold wash Warm rinse would be for wools and possibly knits. Cold would help prevent pilling and stretching of knits during wash, while warm would relax thick fibers for detergent carry away. Unless knits would do better in a warm wash...

    Hot Wash Cold Rinse Cycle?

Sounds like there really isn't much utility or practicality in such a temperature combo. Which makes things easier for me.

    Resurrection of the Whirlpools

Bob, I found your ideal washer. 5 cycles built into the knob, 5 speed selections, 5 none ATC temps, 3 ATC temps and an extra rinse option!     Of note this Kenmore makes the distinction between gentle and delicate, calling the extra slow / slow speed combo "delicate" which as I stated...

    Hot Wash Cold Rinse Cycle?

What would you call a Hot wash Cold Rinse cycle? What would you launder in a hot wash with a cold rinse? Is it normal to wash permanent press items in hot water? So far I've got this: Hot wash / Warm rinse = Heavy Duty & White Cottons Warm Wash / Warm Rinse = Normal & Colored...

Bought The Wrong Vacuum Cleaner Filter

Panasonic is my favorite too. I always thought they made the best vacuums and 230 volt hair dryers among other things. I didn't know type U-2 and U-6 Panasonic bags would fit- I'll give those a try.

    Resurrection of the Whirlpools

I'd think keeping ultra low spin on fine hand-washables would be better for the fabric? I know Whirlpool does the stepped spin on the PP cycle on some models.

    Forum Text Looking Flat

Noticed this now for a few days, the forum text is looking bland. Seems to happen on Mozilla Fire Fox. Is anyone else noticing this? I also can't directly copy and paste images, and can't edited / add new ones when going back to edit a past.

Improving Top Loader Washer Performance Via Intermediate Soaks

Whoa! Welp, you weren't kidding - your senses are not deceiving you. Rinse contact 12 is actually closed during the fill portions of the soak cycle. Meaning the cold valve will always be forced open when contact 10 (fill) or contact 13 (spray) closes regardless of where the temp switch is set...
