Bought The Wrong Vacuum Cleaner Filter

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Panasonic (my all time favorite company) was the manufacturer of this vacuum cleaner so the correct filter number is MC-V199H aka Kenmore EF-1. They also take Panasonic type U-2 bags but any U bag from Panasonic should work, I prefer the ones like U-6 where you can seal up the bag when you empty them out. Yes the Kenmore type O bags would fit, the code is different because they're made out of cloth whereas type U is made out of paper. I like the Miele type Z bags the best because they used plastic instead of cardboard collars, Panasonic also used to make vacuums for Miele at one point but they let Miele make the bags.

Panasonic is my favorite too. I always thought they made the best vacuums and 230 volt hair dryers among other things.

I didn't know type U-2 and U-6 Panasonic bags would fit- I'll give those a try.

I agree

At least for the money, they were very hard to pass up on like my MC-UG583 for example. Such a shame they weren't all that too popular. Vacuum shops favored the more expensive options such as Riccar or Miele (which I do like) but I'm more frugal just like my buddy when he owned a vacuum store and he was a big time Panasonic (plus Sanitaire) dealer similar to this one other shop. Even department stores didn't carry too many of them either, I've only seen like a few on display in my lifetime. At least I was happy that Sears liked them enough for their Kenmore brand, just wished they weren't continuing to use the direct drive/beltless brushrolls. While I liked the idea, I never found them to clean my carpeting well to my satisfactory. And I was convinced by my buddy on his work bench when he was working on a Kenmore just how complex and expensive they are to repair. Panasonic at one point used to use beltless brushrolls on their own machines until they were proven to be problematic enough where they discontinued them but still kept making those direct drive vacuums for Kenmore, probably for getting such high ratings from Consumer Reports.

The type U-2 and U-6 bags were made out of paper which I wouldn't recommend to use. The U-10 bags were made out of cloth like the Kenmore O bags which filters better, holds the airflow longer, and can pack more.
