Older vac's washers, etc. are genrally better, except in the filtering dept. Newer ones have hepa filtration, and are quieter. You can spend about $1,500 for the Miele S8 Unique, their top model, or about $2 grand for an Aerus Electrolux Guardian, or an all steel Filter Queen, or a Rainbow.
