    I know John!!! Absolutely baffled...the only thing I can think of is water had to splash and spill over into the drive shaft as it spin. After the rebuild, all parts needed to be greased were...I'm thinking spin or splash spillage...The rest of the machine is fine...I just don't know...this is...

    The latest...transmission is leaking oil now...lying on the washer's back...holding the agitator and turning the pulley counter-clockwise after spray/soaking with 3 different rust penetrating oils...after 2 days...not successful

    Unfortunately, the rust in the transmission pulley is refusing to release the drive shaft...although, saturated with 3 different penetrating spray oils

    Hey Dan the transmission pulley is rusted to the lower drive shaft...cannot remove trans pulley

    They all were in place...had to pry everything loose...not a struggle...all seemly was in place but, I could turn and spin the transmission (washtub) both ways

    Thanks Dan, here are pics of what the tip of the transmission end...the stop lug...washer and screw look like. If I can repair it tonight I will.

    The wash or rinse cycles are not agitating. The washbasket is spinning instead without draining. The spin drain cycles hesitate at the start to slow spins then pick up speed. The tub no longer locks in place during the wash. The spins are coasting to complete stops.
