    english electric front-loader sqaure door

Export rebrand is likely, but English Electric seems odd Hi all Simon is right, this could well be a re-brand of the 1600, certainly 1970 seems the correct era. The English Electric moniker is odd though - for licence reasons, 1960s AEI-Hotpoints were exported as Gala, though this was dropped...

    Hotpoint 1012

Hi all Just got my 'new' Hotpoint 1012 spin dryer into the house, so I thought I'd put up a few pics for you all to see. This spin-dryer is essentially the spin side of the early 70s Hotpoint Supermatic 1460 twin-tub - I saw one many years ago, and always wanted one - they weren't produced for...

Whirlpool Cabrio Full Wash Cycle Video

Harsh action? I'm not sure this is a particularly hard washing action at all - though it does look very dramatic at four times faster play-back. To me the action looks very similar to good old-fashioned hand-washing - flexing the fabric as it travel up the wash plate. Worth noting that in...

Purple Hotpoint Liberator... is it this one?

Fantastic! Hi Rob and Paul Well done - what a fantastic save! It goes to show they're still out there waiting to be rescued! Paul - amazing detailing work - might be looking for some advice when it comes to get the 1509 into action. It looks like you have to whole 1976 laundry line up under...

    Hotpoint 1509/05 Automatic deluxe

Hiya Paul Great to hear from you, and yes the buttons are a bit of nightmare - if you do root out any, please keep me in mind, I'd be very grateful! Now you might know what the deal is with the colours - mine appears to have three dark purple, one mauve and one white, but your pristine find...

    Hotpoint 1509/05 Automatic deluxe

Gone to earth Well it's in storage now for a while, until we get moved and settled in somewhere in Ireland, at which stage it will come out, be rebuilt and shipped over - miss it already! D PS - big thanks for the help and the hilarity to Rich and Mathew!

    Hotpoint 1509/05 Automatic deluxe

Hi Mike Yeah - the tub deck came up really well - there was a LOT of scale and gunk on the hinge plate and all over under the lid, but it did come away with a little effort. You can see it in the 'before and after' pics! The rust on the chassis seems superficial, but if it isn't it can be...

ROFL - in what way? Shame they chopped the hook off...must have been painful! So how many keymatics have you got now? :-)

    A Phone Call + 500 Mile Round Trip....What For ???

Fantastic Lovely job Gary! So here's a non-oovaah fan question (though I do like the keymatics) - how do you read the keyplates? In your pic up above, with the key-plate as you show it, do you get the non-fast coloureds wash, or something on the opposite side? In other words does it run the...

    Hotpoint 1509/05 Automatic deluxe

Cheers Gary - I know its not an Oooovaah, but for a Hotpoint, its a damn good machine! D x Ps - well done with the snazzy keymatic - looks fab! You doing some pics?

More..the 1509 goes into store now while we move to Ireland, but once we're settled there it will come out, be rebuilt and I'll bring it back to put into use!

    Hotpoint 1509/05 Automatic deluxe

More pictures...you can see the buttons are ok-ish. The white one is rotting (has anyone got a spare they would trade?), the dark purple are faded but fine and the mauve is fine too. The latching mechanism is a bit dodgy - probably full of gunk too.
