Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Fantastic

Lovely job Gary!

So here's a non-oovaah fan question (though I do like the keymatics) - how do you read the keyplates? In your pic up above, with the key-plate as you show it, do you get the non-fast coloureds wash, or something on the opposite side? In other words does it run the cycle you can see on the edge of the plate sticking out, or the far end that is in the register?

Keyplates

Hello David yes that is it, whatever you see written on the front edge is what you getting, as in the non-fast coloureds wash like in the picture.
I made a few mistakes in the early days of these......

I did think of you when i connecting up the black rubber outlet hose ;-)

Interesting old washer!

Great and old washer!
I just wonder after all these years of having that machine, do you maybe know what machine he got to replace this one? :)

Thanks alot indeed :D

RONHIC
The magic button is just a half load button all it does is reduce the water level on rinses for smaller loads oh and of course saves the planet at the same time :-)

MIKE

Pump Knocking Noise?

Hi Gary,

I'm green with envy of you beautiful Keymatic's. Ireland wasn't rich enough to buy these LOL! Nah one will turn up for me sometime. Is the pump mean't to make that noise?

James.

Gawjus!

Hope you're feeling better now, did the owners give you a short deadline in which to collect it, or were you just all fired up?!?!

Guess it must have been a daily driver? Finds like this do make you wonder what lurks in other unassuming kitchens! With that date of purchase, wonder if it was wifey's xmas present!

Yipppeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

Hiya Gary

Great find and all down the the long running advert. For years, when I have been sifing through the internet information on the keymatics, I have always stumbled across your adverts. Always nice when the patience pays off (the adverts do work James - honest they do).

Simply by being on this site and posting information, jo public have stumbled across my e-mail address (though now they seem to have been made private - grrrr! is there anyway of making them publicly viewable to Jo Public?) and we have been given machines. My posting information on this site has directly resulted in us being given the Hotpoint 1826 Liberator and Hotpoint 18371 Super Electronic.

To the Key...
The A3062 looks lovely - can I come and clean it soon? In need of therapy! lol.
December 1978 purchase date and produced two months prior to that - early Christmas present perhaps?

It does look lovely and, as Mike says, you need to do a lineup of the A3060 and D6042 - but only when you are fighting fit.

Congrats on another preserved Keymatic - just updating my records with the new arrival!

Cheers
paul

Hi Richard.

The Half Load option....

yep - the 'New Magics' ushered in this particular option button, in a lovely shade of green.

The A3062 Keymatic 1100 and A3064 Selectamatic 1100, received the button as a top of the range feature.

A3064 Selectamatic shown below - an ohhh so near and yet so far machine for one forum member, unfortunately:-(

Hiya Lee.

just gone and looked at my listings and I make it the following, as far as preserved Keymatics are concerned (might be wrong though):

3x3224
3x3226
2x3203
1x3243H
1xA3008
2xA3062
&
1xA3112

+
1xA3114 Selectamatic 1100.

We are just missing preserved examples of the 3203H, 3223H and A3050 to have at least one of every version of Keymatic in safe hands. An A3064 Selectamatic 1100 would be a nice addition too!

Pump noise, no James there is too much end float on the shaft this causes the knocking, easy job to do

SIMON
It was a bit of a rush job, plus i was off my head with lemsips, the guy mentioned that the new machine was coming Saturday so it would be gone by then, the machine belonged to his parents so it has a bit oif history

No, not yet, there must be room for a few more. If not get that sledge hammer out and nock a wall down and make that garage bigger.

One more thing.. :D

I am not so much in keymatics.. so Can you please upload a pic of both key cards that you put in to select a programme.. As I could understand they have 2 sides each, so if you could please send me a link, or take a pic of 2 key cards, both sides! :D

Thanks alot indeed.. really looking foward seeing them :D

cheers,
Dex

Hi Gary
Hope your better btw.

Great condition the keymatic is in. Was thinking to myself a few months back looking at chestermikes and Hoover was deffo ahead of its time with styling cos your machine wouldnt look out of place in most new kitchens (mho before is start a war lol)

Cant beleive they still had the original paperwork for the machine. Love looking through them and getting to know how to work the machine properly, not like new ones now, 2 bits of paper sayin, theres the drum, put washing in, press button ha ha
congrats again Gary :o)

Searchalator

Type in Keyplates and there are quite a lot of posts from members about these marvelous machines,,,heres a selection!!!

They where marketed as being able to quickly update your machine by buying a new keyplate....not so as all subsequent machines generally had their reader programmers updated and so the program slots where all different....even for the same programme!!!
