Great Presentation . . . love those little umbrellas!

    Collapsible Sand Blasting Booth

Nice . . . I'd love to have one of these, though maybe not enough to make one! Let us know how the canvas chute works out.

    Chinese underware models

Chinese underware models . . . Not only is he not athletic but he doesn't look Chinese either. I have some much better photos of athletic Asians who would pass any scrutiny but this isn't the proper forum, lol.

    What is this Refer madness?!?

I have heard the term reefer for many years used by people in the trucking industry to differentiate a refrigerated trailer from an ordinary one, as noted above by ptcruiser. My paternal grandparents in East Texas always called it an icebox, although IIRC theirs was a Whirlpool or Kenmore. The...

    Ford Refund Surprise

Glad to hear this is working out for you. That's impressive mileage, especially if it includes much city driving with the a/c on. Ford has been putting lots of effort into making good products these days and it seems to be paying off.

    Open

Love it . . . And there is even a Radarange so you can have a snack while waiting for your laundry!

    Radio Score

Glad to hear it all worked out well! If you had the original Crosley that was AM only it's likely you'd not be using it much if ever. My Crosley has a lot of sentimental value but it's not in use since I don't like talk radio and have been listening almost exclusively to music on FM for the last...

Looks like Electrolux is the front runner

American Lux Vacuums . . . The US based Electrolux vacuum company has never gone out of business, they are still very much around. What they did do was sell the rights to the Electrolux name in the US and thus had to change their own name. Since that point they have been known as Aerus. Not as...

    An unexpected Whirlpool find!

What a Beauty . . . That's a wonderful find, as noted the Whirly is much rarer than the Kenmores. I think you'll have to keep it to have something from the "other side" of the Whirlpool-Kenmore family tree, now that the panel lights up the Lady Ks should be willing to accept it as an equal.

    Pocket Door Locks

Ralph, what is the exact situation of the door, is it interior or exterior? Breaking in through a pocket door isn't normally an issue because they're not used in exterior locations. About the only time you need a lock is if the door is to a bathroom or bedroom, thus a privacy lock is adequate...

    Pocket Door Locks

Because of the nature of pocket doors locks aren't the most secure things but assuming you're talking about a privacy lock - not an entrance lock with a key - they are readily available. Link is to an Emtek 2102, you should check Baldwin as well. Emtek is generally a little cheaper but decent...

This is how we roll old skool.......

A fine looking set . . . I love that turquoise agitator, something pretty to look at each and every time you open the lid!

    POD 8-14-14

Nope . . . IIRC the Thor washer and dishwasher tubs are separate units and mount onto the lower part of the machine that has the motor, so no part of the DW interior is used for clothes washing or vice versa.

    Radio Score

You have to love a radio manufacturer who gives the choice of five different colors on one model, including chartreuse! I always thought the design of many '50s Crosleys looked automotive, mine always seemed redolent of the nose of a Buick. It is ironic that the design of Crosley cars wasn't...

    Radio Score

Nifty . . . Somewhere in storage I have the first radio I ever owned, it's the same as the photo below except the whole thing is metallic anthracite. It belonged to Marge, a friend of my parents and was kept on her kitchen counter. One day while cleaning she accidentally flipped a switch on the...

Saw something I hadn't seen for years when starting a car

One thing I've noticed on cars built in about the past 15 years is that there is an interlock switch on the clutch pedal to prevent starting unless the pedal is depressed. It is annoying to me since it's one more thing to go wrong eventually; I've always had the habit of putting the gearbox in...

    Speaking of Food Processors....

Off topic, but . . . Since Cadman started this thread I figure he checks in now and then. This is a pic I snapped a few days ago in Los Feliz right next to Griffith Park. Cadman Drive isn't very large but as with most things - possibly even food processors - it's quality, not quantity that counts.

    80s yuppie dream acquisition~Subzero 361RFD

I've specified quite a few SubZeros through the years and they generally hold up well. One nice thing about them is that there is a wealth of service knowledge and parts for them; even an old SubZero can often be repaired with factory parts.

    Kitchenaid Dishwasher KUDS01FLSS1

Hmmm . . . The way I look at it, if a new machine is installed the old one has to be pulled out anyway so might as well do it and check the heater. If it's bad then it seems to be a fairly easy and inexpensive fix at that point. If it has continuity and thus appears to not be the problem then...

    Kitchenaid Dishwasher KUDS01FLSS1

Thanks for the reply John, So I guess the motor and pump must be pulled to access or change out the heating element?
