    IKEA Question

A lot of what Ikea sells is--let's face it--crap. Their cabinets, however, are pretty good. I put some up in my laundry room and they were really easy to install. I think the carcasses are all the same, and it's just the doors that are different (and run the price up.) veg

    Centura by Corning

Oh, yeah You just can't have too much Cornflower Centura! All of mine has come from either the Goodwill or the Sally Ann. I put mine in the microwave all the time with no ill results. Way back when, Consumer Reports said not to ever put it on a hot stove burner because it would explode. veg

Trying to find a refrigerator that Fits!

I got an LG LBC22520SW from Sears when they had 30% off all Energy Star appliances. According to LG, the height to the top of the hinges (tallest measurement) is 68.5. Got the fridge in May and it's been great so far. It replaced a loved but dying 1964 GE and boy, did my electricity bill go...

    Anyone need one of these?

Didn't Laura Petrie have one of these in the early episodes? Still not too keen about combining water, electricity and grounds in the same area. I'd definitely love to have one, though. Great score!

Screw the environment; I want clean clothes!

While our clothes have always been clean, they've never been "whiter than white, brighter than bright" that the old commercials used to promise. So I broke down and bought a pail of TSPP. It hasn't arrived yet, but I'm seeking guidance from the experts about how much to use for a load. The...

Popular Club brand of soda pop

In Baltimore, Almond Smash was made by Suburban Club ("Suburban soft drinks; you just can't sip 'em!") Apparently, you can still get it in random places, but it's hard to find. In Massachusetts, Cott was the brand to drink ("It's Cott to be good!"). I can still taste their white cream soda...
