Introducing the 1956 Rheem Gas dryer!

I'm intrigued by the drum. Does the drum actually tumble, or do the vanes move while the drum remains stationary? Either way, it's a cool machine! veg

    Mr. Steamy

I know Sears at least offered something similar years ago--a hollow ball to be filled with water and tossed in the dryer to dampen clothes. Seems to me the Mr. Steamy effect could be duplicated with a damp tea towel. Cost: $0.00 veg

    Portuguese Sweet Bread

Mmmmm I grew up eating my grandmother's Masa Sovada, but her's was nothing like yours; no vanilla, potatoes, or orange zest. No sugar sprinkled on top, either. Haven't had it in a while. Think I might go dig out the recipe and make some. It's great toasted. veg

    Calling all Radarange experts!

It's back! Went to Home Depot today and bought the Family Pack of springs. Hooked 'er up (had to use a different hole, as I couldn't get the old spring out), put it back together, and we once more have vintage microwave goodness. Hopefully, it'll last another 24 years! veg

    Calling all Radarange experts!

Fred, it is the Radarange you sent me! I love it to pieces and since it's only 24 years old, I'm not ready to get rid of it yet! Cory, I already tried to make a new hook in then end of the spring but the metal is brittle enough that it just kept snapping on me. And I did try to run it without...

GE Carry Cool rebadges as Sears Coldspot

We had one for years. It was a "loss leader" model that was very inexpensive. Its settings were On and Off. veg

    Calling all Radarange experts!

On Sunday, I opened the door of my Radarange and was greeted by a loud "kapoing!" sound from inside. Turns out the door spring on the left side snapped. It looks to be a simple repair, but there are a couple of problems. First, I have no idea what model Radarange I have! I looked all over it and...

    HP N270

I have the same Acer as Mike and Terry. Handiest. Thing. Ever. No bigger than a book to carry around, and light, too. I also have a Dell that's not quite so satisfactory--HD is really too small and the keyboard's not quite up to snuff; a few of the keys are smaller than the others which takes...

    Percolator fun!

Sorry, Lawrence--I thought it was a rhetorical question. Answer? Getting any ink at all is out of the question. Don't like 'em, never have. Percolator fun!

Scott, the trivet is a separate, unrelated piece; I have two of them. Once, at a friend's office, I saw the 11X15 or so cornflower "counter saver" and was sorely tempted to abscond with it! I've never been able to find the official black plastic trivet that goes under the Electromatic. But...
