Grrrr. Can you stop posting the link to you Hotmail account. It's annoying me, possibly more than it should be! Cheers.

    Hotpoint Washer Exploded

Shove it on eBay...... as 'unwanted gift' or something & put the money towards a Zanussi with Inverter Motor instead. Some of the Hotpoints are really quiet, but like with many machines, the ones that are not specific quiet models really do whine when they're running. My Mums newer (2007)...

Hoover/Candy Hi Haxifan I know Hoover/Candy have their fans, and they certainly seem more popular in Europe, but i just don't rate them. My Auntie's Candy Activa Smart seems alright, but it's from the Hoover Nextra era of machines that was abit better made than the later ranges. Even that has...

Beko I think Beko have built up quite a decent reputation for themselves, hence why so many guys on here are positive towards them, including me. There's alot of owner reviews on Currys & Comet websites, plus owners on Which? where people have bought them after being let down by a more...

    Number of Rinses Indesit IWD5123

2 Generations I think Hotpoint/Indesit have two generations of machines running side-by-side at the moment. The Indesit Prime, Hotpoint Aqualtis & some other Hotpoint's like Darren's WMUD look all-new, but the Indesit's like yours (aeg03) & Hotpoint's like the WML range have been around...

Should be fine..... The known problem with Hotpoint/Indesit drum's failing was on their slightly older models. If you manage more than 2.5 years without the electronics or bearings going on the WML then you'll be doing well, but i doubt it'll explode. They'd be mad to have not corrected that...

    Hotpoint Washer Exploded

Drum Seem It does look very thin for something that needs to take so much pressure. I would say 'they must know what they're doing' but after this you gotta wonder. On our albeit fairly old Zanussi (2001 ish) the drum seem is almost ribbed, like it's been punched/indented in small sections to...

    Hotpoint Washer Exploded

aeg03 That rings a bell now that you've said it, though i do remember reading about this (pretty flimsy) stabilising bar being fitted to some machines, and i dunno how fitting that would stop a paddle falling off so i'm quite unsure. domesticbliss If you're getting the new Hotpoint for free...

Newer Hotpoint Forgot to show a link to an arguably better-built Hotpoint. The one's like this feel more solid. http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/hotpoint-wmpf742p-washing-machine-polar-white-10096455-pdt.html

Stabilising Bar..... Am i right in thinking that Hotpoint/Indesit retro-fitted some sort of (largely inadeqate) stabilising bar to some of their affected machines? I thought this problem had more or less died out on Hotpoint/Indesit machines & that they were largely more sucessful in sorting...

Zanussi Rinses Our 2007 Essential (ZWF14170W), which is like the 14070W but with a seperate dial for the temperature control (see video), does 3 rinses on all cycles as far as i remember. It's currently in the garage as the house weve moved to has an older Zanussi Washer Dryer in place. We...

Quartz..... Yep, that's the one, Jacob! Not quite the icon that the older Quartz are, but maybe one day! Darren! Some of us havn't even been to bed for Saturday night yet - you're clearly not as hardcore as i thought ;-) The Indesit/Hotpoint stuff does seem to have improved with the Prime/WML...

Haha..... Darren won't listen to me, even though he knows deep down that i'm right ;-) And thanks, i have my moments - i'm often very grumpy though! Although not a continuous range, the Servis Quartz ran on & off for a long time - i remember seeing some 90s or possibly 2000s models with...

Hmmm... Zanussi offer; to take or not to take?

Great Model. Would really like to find one of these. Unfortunately they're as rare as rocking horse poo now. I don't think they were ever amazingly common & even with the very solid build quality, i suspect the majority will have suffered corrosion through age & been scrapped. There is a video...

Not quite as long but..... Whirlpool's 6th Sence must've been around nearly 10 years now. Oh and Darren, i'm shocked you didn't remember Jetsystem. Think you should buy a new one instead of a Hotpoint as a way of making up for it ;-) Liam

Hmmm... Zanussi offer; to take or not to take?

Get It! If you fancy an old machine that you can leave stored up for a few months & then just dust off, plug in & go then i reckon an 80's Zanussi is hard to beat. I've got two, a 1984 Z9292T, which is a 1000rpm model with induction motor, and a 1986 or 1988 (it escapes me at the moment)...

Aaah yes.... I saw it on eBay. Just don't have the room for anything else at the moment unfortunately. Glad it's not gone to someone just looking for a cheap machine to wear out. It looks REALLY tidy. There's a way of dating it exactly from the serial number but it's roughly 1986-1989. Darren...

    what to do?

Depends.... If the Servis would be purely for occasional use/collection piece then get it. If it's for everyday use i think you need a modern machine, as it sounds like you have a few problems with old machines being used daily (Tricity Bendix played up & didn't you have a Bendix that had a few...

*Enter Darren* Here she comes! ;) Bonus that you got the manual, just makes things seem more 'complete'. Ive managed to get the manuals for my FL1012, and the Z930 (Electronic Sensor) dryer, plus a newer Zanussi dryer i've got. Unfortunately not got the manual for the Z9292T washer, but did...
