The timer: notice some of the black paint is chipped from the plate above. It's one of the very few cosmetic flaws.

    GE Filter-Flo

Found her on Craigslist for $40. Smelled like cigarette smoke, was in a kitchen so grease was a problem too. The inside was gross, as was the control panel and cabinet. My camera quit after the first few shots. This is what the underside of the top band looked like: you can imagine the rest.

I found the back panel bolts and washers on RepairClinic. They are on order. Here are a few pics of the GE. I'll get better ones later. The 1-18 is on the priority list right now. Bobby in Boston

This is the end...my friends...KUDS220T1 retires.........

My KDS 20 has no slit in the blue upper wash arm tube, and it never leaves a bit of food residue on the tops of cups or glasses. My mom's KDS 23 cleans beautifully well too, and it's so quiet. Even though the 23 is the first Whirlpool KD, it still has the Hobart design. Bobby in Boston

K-Mart/Sears To Close Twenty-One Stores By Spring

As a kid in Syracuse NY, I can remember going into the old Sears and Roebuck store downtown. It looked more like a fortress than a store, with several floors of top quality stuff. The Boston store looked quite the same. K-Mart was called Kresge's, after the owner. (that's the K in K-Mart) It was...

    A Shocking Confession

I once saw a man with his young son on his shoulders almost lop the kid's head off because he didn't see the fan going. I am not a fan (no pun intended) of them either: I think they are just plain ugly. There was a rage a few years ago when churches started putting them in, supposedly to push...

    Maytag Powerfin Question

I've seen plenty of muck under all brands of agitators. The newer Tag poly agitators have a hole already. Bobby in Boston

    GE Filter-Flo

Would anyone have three back panel screws with the fender washers for this old girl? The fiber back panel is loosey-goosey, making her pretty noisy during spin. I will pay any reasonable cost and shipping. Bobby in Boston

    Maytag Powerfin Question

Might as well ask: If anyone has a black Bakelite agitator in good shape that they would consider selling, I'd love to buy it. Our old 142 Bakelite agitator cracked during the rebuild several years ago. I have a black poly powerfin agitator in it now, but it's nothing like the original. Baja's...

    Maytag Powerfin Question

Some of us old timers may remember the very first large tub Tags had a turquoise polypropylene agitator modeled after the old Bakelite ones. There was no gap under the fins, and the fins did not taper down. My aunt's old 806 (pre-perm press models) had this agitator. It also had the stainless...

Partselect has the scanned parts pages, but they are very fuzzy. Does anyone have a repair guide for these mills? Would Whirlpool have them online? Bobby in Boston
