    Maytag Clip

very nice clip but it still turns my stomach to see a Maytag name plate stuck on a Whirlpool product. From what I can see in stores, the only difference is the nameplate...just like the one the "tour guide" stuck on the washer at the end of the clip.

temporary fix This would just be a temporary fix until you find the parts: in the last days of our unit like that, my mom used a toothpick to keep the handle up....she just put it in the hole that appears when you raise the handle...........

TOY FRIGIDAIIRE 3 RING AGITATOR WASHER ON EBAY!!!!!

sharp edges The toys we Boomers grew up with had sharp edges, lead paint and parts that could cut off body parts. Yet we all seemed to survive. Not like today when everything is made of soft plastic and with rounded corners. I lusted after this toy when I was about 8, but it was too...

    American Top Loaders with auto-soak

GE with enzyme soak cycle My grandmother's Filter-Flo (circa 1969) had an "enzyme soak cycle". This was when enzyme soaking products, such as Biz and Axion, were first introduced. The cycle consisted of fill (water temp. your choice), agitate for about 5 minutes and then soak until you came...

    GE wringer for sale

GE wringer GE not only made wringer machines, but also made a "twin tub" with spinner to compete with Easy. I have a GE laundry guide published in 1932 with many pictures of the twin tub and several of that year's wringer machines. It also has detailed instructions for doing laundry, such as...

    Replacing My Beloved Accord . . .

Honda Accord I have a new Accord, whichh replaced a 2001 Camry. I test drove a Camry, Impala, Jetta and a Ford Fusion. Hands down, the Accord won. I didn't think a mid-size import could get much better than a Camry, but I was wrong. The Jetta was nice, but just too small for the two of us...

1950's somthing hotpoint sink beside dishwasher

The house I live in and grew up in had a Hotpoint Electric sink, installed when the house was built in 1952. It lasted until 1973 and the only replacement available at that time was a KitchenAid version, costing approx. $800.00. My mother opted to replace the entire unit with a base cabinet to...

OMG! Warning for using newly-formulated ALL detergent

don't know why.... they put it in All, but it is probably the same thing that is in dishwasher detergents that turns aluminum black....just my opinion, not based on any fact that I know of...

    1940s US Thor wringer

Thor wringer My grandmother had a Thor wringer, but she owned it before I was born. My mom used it when first married, and I do remember her telling me that it tangled clothes terribly. Grandma replaced it with a 1954 Frigidaire Unimatic and my Mom followed, buying the same with matching dryer.

    Wringer Washer

If you can't find one here, check out Lehman's Hardware in Kidron, Ohio. They sell refurbished Maytag wringer washers, mostly to the Amish, but I am sure there are others who buy them, too. (and welcome to the club!!!!!!)

    Maytag Pair

power fin agitator I have a turquoise power fin agitator that I would give free to a good home...pay shipping only. I no longer have a Maytag, except for a wringer machine and have no use for the agitator.

    Old Detergent

Tide tablets I wish Tide Tablets were still available. They worked really well and (GASP) they were low sudsing.
