    Tesco/Sainsburys Own Brand Detergents

Likewise - can't speak for the Tesco one, but Sainsbury's (and Waitrose & M&S) bio tablets and powder are good. Lidl and Aldi's detergents are also pretty good. Don't really notice any difference from those that I've used to Persil, and all rinse out better in my soft water than Ariel or Fairy.

UK Members which Hotpoint WMA should I go for

Perhaps you'd be better to ask specific questions around features to get more relevant answers. If everyone told you to buy a specific colour that wasn't your favourite, would you pick that or your favourite choice?! A question: why do you want to replace the machine rather than repairing the...

UK Members which Hotpoint WMA should I go for

Pick whichever one you like, and whichever has the features you need. As for colour - that's a personal choice, nobody can tell you what colour to get.

    The Dredded Rumble

Rob - I agree entirely :-) AEG03 - we can see it's two years, but that is still well below the lifetime you'd expect from a 600 Euro washer. Remember as well that this machine has not been looked at by an engineer - there is only a suspicion that bearings are faulty and it could be something...

    The Dredded Rumble

I'm with Rob here - why not get it checked out by an actual engineer rather than dismissing it on what you think is wrong. This sort of throwaway mentality leads to a lot of waste creation unnecessarily, and will cost you a lot of money. Even if you get it checked and Bosch / the store offer...

    My Bosch WAW32560GB

Yup, this is a delayed start where you select the end time not the start time. The current model it shows as "finished in..." rather than a delayed start time. So, your 11 hours will mean the machine thinks you want it finished in 11 hours time, and will work backwards to start the machine from...

    Argos Catalogues 2004/2005/2006/2007

Hi Janak, It is a very specific ask, and one I'm not sure how easy it will be to resolve. There are a whole load of Argos catalogues available online for before 2000, but I'm not sure about post 2000. Please do be patient with people - it may be that if there's no reply then nobody can help...

When were Hotpoint WF and WT and WD and VTD and CTD series launch

Have some patience... if there's anyone able to answer the question, they will do, but someone may have to go and research it themselves.

Zanussi lindo 100 sussed it reviewed it now not sure

First question: have you tried adjusting the water pressure by turning the tap off a little bit? If so, did it still leak? When did you buy the machine? It would be worth contacting John Lewis again and stating that you believe it's not fit for purpose due to the leaking - this will be under...

Hotpoint completely owned by whirlpool now

They are highly unlikely to get rid of the brand - even with the reliability issues they've faced over the years, there is massive brand equity in the Hotpoint name which they'll be able to leverage for sales. I think Hotpoint is still one of the biggest selling brands in the UK - along with...

    modern washers and dryers rant

When you read online complaints, bear in mind that you are often reading the result of someone frustrated because a) something isn't working the way they expect (it could be faulty, it may be user error) or b) that they have been unable to contact the manufacturer/store/repairer. That doesn't...

how do I connect my drain hose? instructions confusion

Most only need to go up and over once - so I'd imagine as long as it goes through the inverted U into the top of the drain pipe it should be perfectly fine.

What kind of bulky linens is my LG 3570 large enough to clean?

Without meaning this to sound flippant - but the easiest answer is whatever will fit in the machine and not be too heavy. I can fit Ektorp 3-seater sofa covers in my Euro size machine and they wash well, so that's an easy one. Pillows should be fine, though I'd possibly be hesitant about the...

front load washers not for humid basements?

I've never had a front load machine that smelled of mildew - whether it was in the kitchen, basement, utility or garage. I think it's safe to say that they only smell mildew-y when they're not used properly - you don't need to leave the door wide open, just ajar between cycles. You need to run...

Why is my Miele acting like this?

Brandon, I'm with Rod & Rich - it would certainly do no harm to run an empty 95C cotton cycle with either a washing machine descaler/cleaner or a couple of dishwasher tablets (I'd probably use the latter as I'm too cheap to buy the washer cleaner and don't think it does a lot the tablets won't)...

    IFA 2015

Even if ozone kills bacteria, I still wouldn't expect that proportion of them to be removed. It seems very unlikely. However, if people are confusing bacteria with allergens, that may be more likely.

    IFA 2015

I'm dubious of that claim that steam will remove 99.99% of bacteria - where did that come from? Can you provide a source for the claim? I'd be interested to read how they tested it. The reason that I'm so dubious of that is that steam as it's implemented in laundry appliances is a gimmick. It...

Is there any kind of consensus on what the most reliable FL washer is today?

Launderess - I'm the same. I don't need a huge capacity machine for most things, and don't have the space for drying a full load from one either really, so duvets etc. get taken to the laundry. It's not like they need washed all that often either - I use covers on them. Caruso - I think you've...

Is there any kind of consensus on what the most reliable FL washer is today?

Samsung and LG are rival companies, not the same one. The UK and European markets are very different to the US one, though you will generally find that Electrolux group machines are seen as being pretty reliable, as are Bosch. LG tend to come out slightly behind them in reliability surveys...

New hotpoints claim to move 100 stains at 20°

I guess I just don't have any interest in WiFi capabilities for my appliances, nor mobile connectivity via NFC, or other such gimmicks. I buy a washer to wash clothes, and to do so reliably. Based on experiences I've seen with Hotpoint electronics in the past few years, I wouldn't spend that...
