New hotpoints claim to move 100 stains at 20°

While I'm sure the machine CAN do that, else they wouldn't be allowed to claim it in adverts, I do wonder how long the cycle will be that does it. I'm also not convinced by the foam generation, much like the Samsung ones. These machines are also very expensive for Hotpoint, with prices reaching...

Fisher and Paykel Washsmart Super Quick 15min Cycle.

These F&Ps are made by Haier, as far as I know.

    Gorenje or Fisher and Paykel??

Matt - good luck! I'd be interested to read the Choice test - is it available online anywhere? Just curious to see how two consumer magazines could test with such wildly different results, given the 35% score from Which?! Worth a try anyway, and if you don't get on with it then you can return /...

    Gorenje or Fisher and Paykel??

One of the F&P machines just got a 35% "Don't Buy" rating from Which? so I would be rather reluctant to buy one of them. Well, that and Haier's unproven reliability record as yet. They slated it for average to poor cleaning, poor at rinsing, being very noisy and expensive.

Need help choosing a washer dryer

A lot of German made machines have had those tubes to drain excess water for quite some time - can definitely remember AEGs & Bosch machines from late 80s having them, certainly. Zanussi started doing it after AEG merged in with the Electrolux group as well. The leeway for the drum moving is...

    Spin Speeds

It's the length of the spin rather than solely the speed which will determine how dry items get. I remember tests in the 90s where AEG / Bosch / Siemens lower end machines with slower spin speeds did better than Hotpoints / Aristons and others with 'fast' spins that only got to the top speed for...

Need help choosing a washer dryer

Some certainly were, don't know about now. Either way, it was both Bosch and Siemens ones, so would've had no impact on price differences. The quality wasn't reduced at all either, going on reports.

    POLL: Favorite Sneaker for Walking/Running?

I've never done the gait analysis at a running store, though I may be tempted to do that once my weights back down a bit more. However, I've found recently that Adidas Duramo 5's are near perfect fit for me and pretty supportive, so I have bought a couple of pairs to keep me going for a while. I...

Zanussi lindo 100 sussed it reviewed it now not sure

As more than one person has said (in this thread and others) - if it's the floor that is slanted and the problem, then you're going to have that same problem whatever machine you get. If I am understanding right, then your floor is slanted downwards as it gets towards the wall, yes? What...

Zanussi lindo 100 sussed it reviewed it now not sure

Hairyguard, I hope you don't see this as "getting at you", but it would be a lot easier for you to keep track of any advice given to you if you kept all the posts relating to your Lindo in one thread, and it would help those of us trying to help you to see what's already been suggested / tried...

hoover making 13 kg washing machines

Regardless of whether one likes the looks or not (I'm not a massive fan of Hoover and Candy designs), you have to question how often you would fill a true 13kg of laundry. I think 13kg would be an awful squash into these machines, same as most other capacities of >7-8kg in the last few years...

    OH NOOOOOOOOOO NOT AGAIN

If you can't make any adjustments then you'll either need to: - explain the problem to landlord / letting agent and ask them to make adjustments - put up with the problem - exchange for a different machine that has more adjustment in the feet (though I don't know what, without trial and error)...

    German-made dishwasher

This looks like AEG from when Neff was a part of the AEG company.

Do you think indesit are way behind technology than the others

I'm not sure what you're actually asking here washerman, as your post is a little confused. Perhaps if you can explain your point a bit more clearly? I don't think that Indesit as a group are necessarily behind on technology. Indesit the brand are, generally, treated as the low end brand, and...

    Hoover All In One

One member has a Candy machine with the all-in-one programme and reckons that the programme isn't particularly great. Think his machine otherwise has been fairly reasonable. That machine will be less likely to stick out than the Hotpoint you were looking at looking at the sizes, though may be a...

I think, for the most part, people will begrudge paying high manufacturers call out fees. A five year p&l warranty would suit most folk better than ten year parts only.

And therein lies a problem with society these days - chuck it and get a new one instead of repairing or keeping things running. Sorry, BoschExxcel, that's not meant to get at you - I just get really frustrated with seeing fairly new machines chucked at the tip and the like because they're not...

A brand new Miele washing machine for £689

logixx, this is the new range. Rob - they've been selling machines at that sort of price level for years... if it was under £500 I'd be in shock, but near £700 isn't so much of a surprise.

Mat - I don't "have it in" for Hotpoint, and whilst I don't own one now I have owned several in the past, each of which had their problems. I wouldn't buy one now until there's been a fair amount of time with better electronic and mechanical reliability. You, on the other hand, appear to see...
