I like the older sets too, even the older mini lights. They are getting hard to find around here, even in the thrift stores. There used to be one thrift store that sold lights "as is" whether they were working or not. Not so any more. Just plastic bags of bundled up lights with a pig tail...

Thanks, Martin. If empty, it'll spin pretty smoothly with just a light clicking sound. Would that be typical of a strut issue?

I'm glad Robert started this thread. I have one of these too that was given to me because of a bad pump. Replaced the pump, ran it a few times and am ASSUMING that the spider broke. Made a deafening crash, boom, clang and bang during spin. Will still wash without issue,but spin is another...

I can attest to Raclawski's work. I got a rebuilt motor from him for one of my Vornados. Good, quality work and he took the old motor as trade in.

Mine is a 1977 Sears unit made by Heil. Amazingly old but still cranking out the cold. It's a bit undersized for the house and struggles on the hottest days but still going faithfully. Compressor went out in 1986, found a guy that was retiring and had left over parts, replaced that for $300.00...
