Wow, that is an odd one, isn't it? That console looks like the radio on our kitchen counter back in the mid-1960s.

Actually it is a BOL dryer and there is a washer which matches it that is BOL too. I should know because I have had two of the washers that matched it before.
Love it!! There was one like that for sale here locally at a nearby thrift store a while back. Was there for a few months before it disappeared. I've felt remorse several times for not getting it.
So it isn't Canadian after all. Can't say I've ever seen these consoles before.
They used to be all over Atlanta, especially up in Castleberry's territory around Chamblee. For the most basic washer and dryer they were a good deal for the money, just not pretty.

Our neighbor had this dryer. There was an upgraded model with two levers, one for start and one for high and low heat. There were two washers, one with one lever for hot or warm water and one with two, with the second lever for the water saver. This dryer had the heating element in a flattish rectangular duct behind the drum which had a stationary back with a rectangular inlet grill. This meant that a felt seal was needed around the stationary back. In the mid 60s, these control panels were replaced by a full width plastic panel that was gray and white, but with the same large white timer dial. The washer with the solid plastic control panel belonged to a friend. It was a V-12 design, but without the FilterFlo feature. Bruce, did your washers have FilterFlo?
There is a picture taken in Gloria Swanson's kitchen in her New York City maisonette and the washer with this pod-type control panel is shown behind her.

This style of BOL Filter-Flo was around from 1958 to 1965. They pop-up from time to time. In 1959, the "clock-radio" console was colored dark blue to fit in to that year's line.
