    Submit to the 906

Mike, I DO love a puzzle Now, sir, I shall ponder that while I'm at work tonight. For all the elegance of those controls, methinks I'd have to stick to the dial. Terribly practical, I know.

Chuckling I hope I'm not the only one that chuckles each time he reads the thread title. Submit, indeed! Chris, that's a Bendix in Greg's picture--quite the looker! Gotta love those doors that look like steering wheels. I'm verklempt! That turquoise Maytag is breathtaking. It's even...

    All About Starch!!!!!!

Sta-Flo I don't wear many dress shirts any more, but I do starch curtains, pillow cases, and on the rare occasion sheets. Love, LOVE, Sta-Flo liquid. Mama always used Niagara spray starch. The smell is heaven, but I don't think it gives as much body.

Hoover Portable Dryer 0920 (belt help!)

I acquired this little dryer some time ago. I have had some success finding other parts on Ebay, but I've had no luck finding a part number, much less a new belt. The old (VERY OLD) belt is worn and unreadable. Anyone have a suggestion? I thought of auto supply, but haven't made that journey...

    Favorite Movie or TV Kitchen

Florence Tom, I imagine it was because Florence's favorite quote was "...and I ain't cleaning THAT up." Oh, how I loved the Jefferson's, even when they were Archie and Edith's neighbors. But Marla Gibbs! She GAVE IT with just the right amount of sass. Poor George never stood a chance. I think...

Family and Kate Lawrence Oh, I forgot that one! I think that house appealed because it wasn't just a set, it was a real house. Yes, I can relate to that one, as well. Still, Truman-era has my heart. Thanks for illustrating for me Sandy, you know how inept I am at such things.

Rita's This will come as no surprise to one member, but my dream kitchen belongs to Rita in the movie 'Letter to Three Wives'. From the Guardian Service cookware to the Thor Automagic washer, it's a room to make me swoon. The fact that she's married to the young Kirk Douglas doesn't hurt, either.

When Is A Chicken Not A Chicken? When it's a City Chicken!

Um... With all due respect, it's a recipe for pork and/or veal. Please don't take this to be an invitation to villify the treatment of these animals, as well. I happen to agree with you about the conditions these poor animals have to suffer. I was reared on a small farm, and am familiar...

    Late 50s GE Dishwasher find!!!!

"Mom was a little 'Granny Clampett' when it comes to gizmos". Truer words were never spoken of my Mama! To this day, she won't have anything to do with her dishwasher (it came with the senior apartment). "I can wash them better myself." To this day, I don't have a dishwasher. Heretic, I know.

Brand New 1941 Washer - Never used!!

Grandma If she was like my Gram, she never used something new until the old one wore out. Perhaps her first wringer lasted and lasted! LOL @favorite rock at the nearby creek. That made me think of Ma Ingalls, thanks for the chuckle.
