Hi Ken, It's good you're not using an acid base cleaner on those old coils. I made that mistake once. The acid will eat through the corrosion on the coils, especially where they sit in the water, and then the coil is ruined. Do you use a fin comb to straighten damaged fins on coils? Brian

It needed a complete tear down, cleaning, and oiling. In the process I found several parts that needed replacing, such as motor mounts, feed dogs, hook drive gear sets and needle bar connecting link, so far.

It's a rapid advance timer, Mark. Just make a diagram of where all the wires and hoses go to and from. Then you can take it apart and clean it. I'd be careful with it though. A machine of that age may have brittle wire coverings and rubber hoses. Also, a lot of those parts inside of that console...
