    Spin Drain vs Neutral Drain

Hose near the top with perforated tub Wow really? I wonder why they did that.

    Spin Drain vs Neutral Drain

Robert (or anyone else who knows), I have always wanted to ask this. With the older solid-tub machines, was a spin-drain the ONLY way to get water out of the tubs, or was there some kind of opening on the bottom, for *shrugs* emergency purposes or something?

    The Things You Learn Here....

Dealing with crazy types Maybe after a while, they either just expect it, or they see so many that by some point, it just makes them laugh!

How to Clean your Washing Machine

I just use warm wash and rinse all the time, and leave the lid open for a while after the last load. Done!

Speed Queen the Only "Sane" Modern Washer Left?

DD Transmission Ours is 23 years old, and still does exactly what it should, including neutral drain, every time. There are less people in the house now than there used to be, and it was manufactured in 1989, so, maybe that's part of it.

    LED Kitchen Lighting

We have the 100-watt equivalent LED flood lights (recessed lighting) in our kitchen since February, so far, they work wonderfully, and look just like the old incandescent ones. Nice to have INSTANT full light again when turned on.

    Type of Heat?

Central air hydronic. (I think that's the correct term)

    Problem with Speed Queen AWN432

The most immediate thing I can think of is overloading, and then maybe something working its way in there during the spin drain.

Have you any idea just what can happen if you're off even by 10???           ......Nothing, haha

It has been brought to my attention (final post)

And, just what exactly are they doing wrong?    I don't recall reading ANY rule that prohibited members from encouraging another to stay if they were unhappy here.

    My new Kitchenmore washer.

Wow, that is indeed some good turnover with that speed.   I must keep my standard WP agitator though. High speed is more fun to listen to/look at, so I think. heh     And, thanks, Martin! I'll probably do some searching for that color with the standard base.

It's too bad the standard WP DA agitator wasn't that color, I would love it!

    Talk to me about quality

No experience from me, but the most common I have heard are leaks or transmission failures.

    Slim Suits........

Okay, I had mentioned this briefly in another thread, and I have to ask, did anyone here have the laugh of their lifetime back when this commercial was aired? I mean, I know there are products that are just too good to be true but.....wow.....haha!

    Electric Blankets

I learned about fire safety long ago. Cant remember how old I was, but I was in early elementary school. Even then I didn't like the ideas of these, as we were told about heat and cloth surfaces, like curtains and such. I'm sure many have had these without incident, but the idea of something...

    Powdered detergents clogging septic lines?

I feel it has to be something else. House here has used powdered detergents for 23 years, that's also the age of the house itself. No blocked septic lines.

    Now Samsung

Not surprising The (not)quality of these things always shows! I had already previously commented on said video. I wonder if they would pull an LG and slow it down rather than actually fix the problem.

A trip down memory lane, my grandparents appliance store

That is so wonderful. I was born in 1988, but even I can appreciate all that.

    Pocket Hoses.... Don't buy one.

We did that all the time. Always shut it off when not in use and kept the valve open so all pressure is out.    The problem is, once that green covering breaks open, that's it, it's done.
