    Pocket Hoses.... Don't buy one.

Travis, I had thought that myself, but I was curious. Thankfully it wasn't much at all, and won't be making that mistake again.    Is Craftsman still good these days?

washer enthusiasts: what's your choice of vacuum?

House here has central vacuuming. The canister, made by Vacuflo is in the basement. it has been very reliable. It is on its second motor now, but the original one, replaced in 2007, lasted 18 years, so I would say that is pretty good. The canister itself cant be heard much because of its...

Assuming the AWN 542 goes away at end of 2014

Launderess's Post I think powdered detergents and warm rinses are what also helped keep tubs clean. When the cabinet on our 1990 WP DD was removed, for the first time (in 2011) in 21 years, I expected to see some kind of stuff on the inside of the outer tub, but (aside from the usual water...

    Kenmore Heavy Duty

So it seems you have the Whirlpool-made 29" dryer. A simple machine.    The most common cause of an electric dryer not heating anymore is a failed heating element or thermostat, but it could be a couple of other parts too, such as a failed thermal fuse, but usually if this part fails, it's...

Some vid links to inspire you

I will never own a machine where the tub is hung from the top instead of SUPPORTED from the bottom.

How to get True Hot Wash

Martin... Would disconnecting the sensor on my bro's 2010 WP DD have any effect (if such a thing is even possible), or would that just make it not work at all? [this post was last edited: 10/8/2013-14:32]

    Kenmore 80 series lid switch

Nope, these machines don't stop with unbalanced loads, in your case with the bypassed switch, simply push in the timer knob to stop it and redistribute what you have to.

    Self Cleaning Clothes

I honestly don't see just how this would work for long-term, how long will this coating last? It kind of reminds me of this........ [this post was last edited: 10/3/2013-09:49]

This Has To Stop Now! Shrinking toilet paper

You can probably Google this, there's a pic somewhere of someone holding up 2 of those chocolate easter eggs. I think they were both a few years apart or something, it shows the size difference.

replaced dead ka washer with kenmore 90 series

Technically, if you ever wanted to, you can still get a Hot/Warm. Simply move the dial to the warm rinse after the wash finishes filling, another awesome part of the mechanical control.

    Video of repairing sun-damaged plastic.

I commented in this video back in 2010. I had figured that maybe if he had just left the lid down, when possible, that it could have helped the plastic. But that cover he got is still good for cabinet paint and such.

I go by what has been told to me for many years. No higher than the top row of holes. Works every time.

New Whirlpool VMW/ Belt drive washers

I could easily make a whole post about it. But, I instead made a video in 2011, talking about the differences between the new BD and DD. Watch it whenever ya feel like it.
