Dubbed down or dumbed down hot water wash

Where my bro used to live, the house has one of the Maytag Peformas. The ATC Warm for the wash was actually good. It started by having just the hot water open only and then opened the cold water once it got hot enough and both valves then STAY open for the remainder of the fill.

Dubbed down or dumbed down hot water wash

On my bro's 2010 WP DD, I can easily get around the ATC for hot. I put an additional hose connector on the cold line with a valve. I just close it when it fills for the wash, the only downside is that I have to stay there while it fills so I can reopen it afterwards. And if I leave it open...

Can someone restore my Kenmore washer for me? Thanks !

Warm Rinse I would NEVER be willing to give up our warm rinse, I think that's what has been keeping the outer tub spotless for us all these years.

    Maytag performa will not spin

At first I thought Maybe the transmission spinning for spin would have something to do with it, but I quickly remembered the old Maytag ones (especially the helicals) which can go for YEARS with no issues.

    Electronic Controls, Bad Rap?

What I love about the mechanical timers is that they tell you exactly how far along something is, whether it be a washer or dishwasher. Now, some electronics did have a "time remaining" which was good, but more often than not, I saw that they didn't have something like that. Also, in the...

    Thread Resurrection Has Arrived!

Nice work, Robert! Only thing I noticed was, I noticed some threads (two, so far) where the WASH button was highlighted when there was a new post even though I had previously viewed the thread before.

Kitchen Aid DD Washer clunking noise only during agitation

Well a mild clunking sound is normal during agitation, though some DDs are louder than others, but if it is REALLY loud then maybe there is something, but I honestly not fully sure beyond that.

    Whirlpool trash

Another reason why I love the mechanicals on our DD washers.

What is your opnion of the new WP BD's?

Don't like them. Too many electronics now, and takes over an hour for one load where as my DD gets the job done in about 31 minutes or so (time varies slightly if warm water is used) I made a whole video of my thoughts about it (more words than anything) if you're interested.

You Can Be Sure, I Think It's The First

Is that a porcelain drum? That must be heavy!

Don't Do LG Topload Washer Recall Unless You Want Wet Clothes

What kind of nonsense is that?? SO glad I don't have one of these.....So I guess the suspension is just as bad as before, then!

Is this a Kenpool or a Whirlmore?

Interesting, I wonder what the story behind that set up is. Though, to me, that cabinet looks brand new, so I'm thinking the cabinet was replaced.

Speed Queen AWN542 - washing new jeans

Cool to see that the tub has indeed stopped indexing after the initial break-in. I never fully understood just how that works...

What are y'all doing in New England to get ready for the storm?

Whew.... Snowblowers are one of the best inventions ever.......

another RepairClinic.com home washing machine repair success

That website is the best, it's where I got the replacement drain pump for our 1990 WP DD, a new egg bin for the refrigerator and new knobs for our stove.

What are y'all doing in New England to get ready for the storm?

Right now I have been hearing that during Friday snow will turn to rain, as it will be just above freezing (38) but it is going to go down to 23 for that night. That can cause some serious icy roads.

What are y'all doing in New England to get ready for the storm?

I won't be surprised if we get a lot here, but I also won't be surprised if barely anything happens. That's always how it is around here, 50/50. [this post was last edited: 2/7/2013-12:53]

Speed Queen salesman comments on water level - true?

Knob Between Settings That's what I do with my bro's 2010 WP DD. Even though it has no water fill restriction I sometimes do that if I have something bulky, like towels.

Speed Queen AWN 412- Humming noise
