I just a new Maytag 806 in Sunny Harvest

Well, after many years of looking I finally found a Maytag 806 that was in good condition, was close by, and was reasonably priced. I just dragged it home yesterday, so I will be posting my own photos, but in the mean time, here's the seller's photos from Facebook. Can I ask someone in the...

    Sears Coldspot Refrigerator early 1930s

Thanks for posting that. Comparative economics is always interesting... I'd like to know what the unstated conditions were about the economy claim versus ice.

What is the name of this type of cabinet door latch?

Thanks for the input Thanks to everybody for their opinion. "Elbow Latch" seemed to have the best response on an Internet (NOT Google) Search.

    First Pie of 2021

Pardon if this has been mentioned But when I have apples to peel, core, and slice, I use this peeler and it saves a huge amount of time and effort. There are several makes, the one I have has a suction cup table grip and a metal frame. I've been using mine for 20 years and there's nothing...

    Firestone washer

I remember as a little boy (abt 1963) that many automotive businesses had wringer washers to clean cloth towels. Any chance that this is a rebadged BOL machine for a Firestone Tire shop? There could be a wringer head under the leaves. The inconspicuous "Firestone" label and inexpensive...

Lorain Furniture (Cleveland, Ohio) Maytag A806 restoration...

Thanks Brad... For posting this video. I'll watch it this evening when I have some "me time", but I will say that if the high speed play back is bothersome, I found it was pretty watchable at a playback speed of 0.25.   There's a gear in the lower right. Click it, and then there will be a...

Recommendations for a Food Vacuum Sealer??

As I get older I find it takes less food on the table to satisfy ... however this leads to waste because freezing uncooked frequently gets frost damaged.   Can anybody suggest a "Sears Better" or "Best" food vacuum freezer. I've never had one so I'm a complete knew-bee about these things.  ...

Does anbody have a "Clamato" recipie.

I am searching for a "Clamato" Look-alike recipe because authentic Clamato costs about $5 a bottle and realistically, that's too expensive.   I'm sure I saw one in an old Todd Wilbur "Top Secret Recipie" Book and as the name suggests it has a recipie for a Do-At-Home version of the Clamato...

    Roma Detergent ... opinions?

Thanks everybody for the input The decision to try Roma was based simply on cost containment. I already use pre-treatment for stain-lift and ammonia for oil-busting, so those elements I think are covering the simpler formulation of the detergent.   I quickly worked through the sample sized...

Cleaning silver marks off white coffee mugs etc.

I don't know how, but I've suddenly discovered  a number of my white coffee mugs have picked up random "silver" (actually grey) markings on the interior and bottom surfaces. Clearly from stainless steel spoons.   Any pointers on removing them?

    Roma Detergent ... opinions?

I usually buy Tide 143 oz size at Walmart, but for the longest time I've been eyeing Roma from Mexico.  I have a non-HE machine (Top loading washer with stacked dryer) and on a lark I bought a very small bag to try.   I have seen the threads about having a simpler formula and cautions about...

Opening up Sealed Burners and Changing Spark Wires.

I have a Hotpoint oven range combination that was built about 2005. The model number is RGB 735. The unit came with the house when we purchased it. It’s apparently bottom of the line but has given reasonable service until recently. The first problem is that the unit features “sealed gas...

    Vintage Food Advertisements: Part Eleven

Thanks, Ultramatic! I'm kind of embarrassed I didn't look this up myself, but I figured it was one of those eccentric 60's flavors (celery jell-o?) that nobody today would have heard of..

2005 Hotpoint oven won't leave self-clean cycle - what to do?

Thanks for the Input John. I've tried starting the self clean cycle a few times now and the oven will not return to normal cooking mode. I really don't want a new oven/range so I suppose the next stop is to call a tech. -Bill
