    Merry Miele Christmas to Me

The sensor wash on my machine has never skipped the interim rinse, but I take the "as needed" term in the manual to mean 1 or 2. I usually get an interim rinse and a final rinse, but with heavy soil, extra suds, greasy food, or for some other reason I sometimes get 2 interim rinses that give 3...

    Merry Miele Christmas to Me

Thanks for the update and the pictures. I downloaded the user manual for your machine and see that under the additional programs is the sensor wash. Although I have a much order model this is the cycle I use for everyday soil. I find that it will heat the water much better than the normal...

Ideas why Miele W1 might be tripping waterproof error?

I think Miele in the California location you live in needs better training. I have never had a Miele product delivered in an open truck like that. My W1 came in a covered truck and in a box and the installers had to open that first before getting to it. If these are the authorized installers...

Dawn Dish Spray - "This is our Pods launch"

This is probably more of a money grab by P&G than anything else. This doesn't work for me. I wash dishes in a dishwasher, but I do wash stainless steel pans by hand. I like to put the detergent on the bottom for a few minutes without water, then I soak them in detergent and hot water. After...

Ideas why Miele W1 might be tripping waterproof error?

The W1 is the machine that has the setting for chlorine bleach. Since I don't use chlorine bleach I have never turned it on. If you use it, it is poured into the prewash cup and is dispensed a few minutes before the wash completes. If you have the setting enabled you cannot do a prewash. As...

Ideas why Miele W1 might be tripping waterproof error?

I downloaded the user manual for your machine and it has most of the cotton cycles going from 140F to 86F like the W1, but the Hygiene or sanitize program is at 203F. There is a note in the dispensing section that says not to use additional liquid bleach. They are expecting to get a detergent...

Ideas why Miele W1 might be tripping waterproof error?

I don't like using chlorine bleach and have not used it in any front loader I have had and still, not my W1 although you can go into the settings and enable the dosing of it. I would check in your user manual for the Little Giant and see if there is anything in the settings to enable it, and...

    KitchenAid's current line up

The user manual says that the main wash water temperature is 105F and if you use Hi-temp you get 130F to 140F for the temperature. 105F for a wash temperature is really low in my opinion and it is the reason you get such long cycle times for these newer Kitchen Aids.

    Merry Miele Christmas to Me

I downloaded the user manual for this machine and I think it has a water softener and the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is used when you use a cold water fill. Did you order salt and are you going to connect it to cold water? The manual has the water and electrical consumption values and...

    Merry Miele Christmas to Me

Cab you give us an update on your new Dishwasher? I think it has a different filter system than mine so I am curious to know how your new machine works?

    Merry Miele Christmas to Me

For me, the Dishwasher tabs work well, but so does almost any detergent I put into the machine. My Miele DW is 13 yrs old so I probably do not know too much about how your new one will work. Let us know how you are getting on with your new DW after it arrives and you get a chance to play with it.

    Boosting the furnace

Go to an online store like LL Bean and order base layer underwear. Wear a pair under your clothes in the day and wear a pair at night. These are poly fabric and fit snug against your body so no bulky feeling. It may not keep your place warmer but you will feel warmer. I agree with the above...

    New Dryers

Energy Star Rated The 527 and 627 Electrolux dryers are Energy Star Rated. In other words, they meet the energy requirements set by governments. It is likely that the dryers are made to use a lower heat so that they can meet the energy requirements. All new dryers are now Energy Star Rated...

    New Dryers

I have the Electrolux dryer, and it takes longer than my previous model. For one thing, it doesn't seem to use as hot of air on the normal cycle as the other drier did, nor the amount of air to push through the clothes. I have gotten used to it by now, but no it is not as fast. To get hotter...

Ideas why Miele W1 might be tripping waterproof error?

I wonder if it is some kind of Lubricant that was used in the manufacturing process. Under normal conditions, the parts would not come in contact with water. I was thinking about this amount of water in the bottom and realized that the spray over the glass technique is not just used at the...

Sister wants a new machine, recommendations please!

Does the Speed Queen FL have the handwash cycle? Maybe it does I haven't seen the new ones.

Ideas why Miele W1 might be tripping waterproof error?

This is a brand new machine that has had a leak probably from the beginning. I would ask for a new one. I had one of the larger Miele T98XX gas dryers years ago and it kept having the same problem for over 2 years and every time the tech came out he was unable to find anything wrong. After...

BOSCH 800 Series throwing error code E:09

I don't have a Bosch DW, but a Miele from 2006 that uses about 1.06 gallons each fill, does 4 fills, a cycle, and has a water softener. I sometimes use a bit of powdered detergent in a load if it is heavily soiled, but for normal soil, I skip doing this. Cascade Pods create a sudsy situation...
