My $0.02
Having recently ventured into the appliance section of the local big box store after a long hiatus in the appliance world and seen what "WhirledPoo" (love that!) is now offering for washing machines, I have to say I was literally shocked at the obviously cheap quality of the VMW...
WP portable tall tub dishwasher
I think this is probably the same one I bought back in July of 2013. I paid $700 for it new at the local independent appliance store. I used it probably twice a week and was always well pleased with the results. It seems to wash thoroughly and doesn't use a lot...
"Am I the only one who thinks top load HE washers..."
Are pieces of sh*t?
No, you are not. I happen to wholeheartedly agree with you. I think they are just an HE fix for Americans that can't pry themselves away from their beloved top loaders.
Why do people that can't afford a washer and dryer...
....have kids?
I'll bet there are more than a few of us on this forum who weren't planned. We just happened and our parents had to deal.
Those of us on here who are gay don't need to worry about children "happening" but this is a common...
Excuse my long absence in this forum! I had my machines in storage for a while and got out of the loop here.
I am looking for a used top panel for a white Frigidaire Affinity Dryer (2012). It currently resides in the basement, so it doesn't need to be new, just nice and straight as the original...
I let my downstairs neighbors/landlord use my Frigidaire Affinity dryer since theirs quit working. This morning I discovered the inside of the drum had all kinds of black streaks on the inside. I assume one of their children used it improperly. Now I'm stuck with a dryer that literally looks...
First off, thanks for all the suggestions. They are all greatly appreciated! There is a 220 outlet on the opposite side of the kitchen for the stove. Not sure if the cords are the same or not.
I really am kind of hooked on front loaders but the way things are looking, I may have to part with...
Well, now it has happened: I am moving to an apt. with no W/D hook-up and am faced with being parted from my well-loved Frigidaire laundry pair. I had to take it because it was the only place close to work that I could afford that would also take dogs.
My question: is there a washer/dryer combo...
What about a commercial-style Hobart set up to do one cycle on (quarters, debit card) what have you? There is always the chance that stupid people may try to bathe their children in them, of course, but one runs that risk in an ordinary laundry mat...
The really weird thing is, I've never had to clean the filters on this machine. I inspect them regularly and it always seems there is nothing in them.
I took the pump down to the appliance store where I bought it. They tested the pump for me and it turns fine, so it must have been an...
Okay, I have taken it apart. The drain hose at first seemed obstructed (I couldn't blow through it) but now that it's off the machine, it seems to be fine. I took the pump off too. Nothing visibly wrong with it. I don't have an Ohm meter, though.
What should I do now?
I have been pretty quiet here for a while. Now a real problem brings me back. My two year old Whirlpool portable DW all of a sudden decided to quit draining today.
The pump sounds very muffled and there is only a mere trickle of water that comes out of the drain hose. I checked the strainers...
Those dishes must have been pretty darned dirty to make that kind of mess in the filter. I don't have to clean my filter very often and all on my WP and all I do is scrape and give a quick rinse.
I guess I'm just one of these types that thinks prevention is better than cure. I have always shut off the water to my washer everywhere I have lived as well as using the braided stainless hoses for extra protection simply because those simple, inexpensive steps are much easier than cleaning up...
My 2012 BOL Frigidaire Affinity does a cold wash (on "Normal", all temps are cold), and two rinses unless "Fresh water rinse" is selected, then it does three rinses. It only spins after the wash cycle and then at the end of the rinses.
