    Gasoline prices

I filled up for $2.76 at my usual spot today after seeing other places raising it to $2.99. Glad I never traded my car for a gas hog! Those people must be regretting that now... I averaged 26.9 MPG out of this last tank that I went 333 miles on and filled up when it was just over a 1/4 tank.

How was YOUR Cinco De Mayo Weekend, 2018?

I always upload photos from my phone and it won't let me drag them in the upload tool on there.

How was YOUR Cinco De Mayo Weekend, 2018?

I drove 20 miles out into the country to a BBQ food truck on the owners farm, then Sunday had Mexican for brunch and went to the beach later. Not far off from a normal weekend for me. (Don’t mind the out of order pics, the upload tool seems to do that for some reason)

    CNET 2018 speed queen review

You do realize that could just be a trick the camera is playing on you right? I bet if they both used the exact same camera you’d see the exact same thing. I personally don’t notice any difference.

    Getting worried here.....

Hum/rattle is probably the plastic shield around the capacitor. Mine made a lot of noise and when I saw older models didn’t even have that I just removed it. These machines do tend to make a lot of funny noises that seem to be normal.

Ford To Abandon Most of Their Car Line

The Mazda 6 is way nicer at this point. The Fusion also hasn’t been based off that since Ford switched to the CD4 platform for the 2013 model year.

Ford To Abandon Most of Their Car Line

I’ve not been much of an SUV person for as far back as I can go. In my mind I’ve always put them in the same category as minivans...for families and soccer moms. There’s a few SUV’s around now that I like enough that I’d own one, but I personally prefer sedans and pickup trucks. I had a Nissan...

    Gasoline prices

I filled up for $2.66 a gallon on Monday just as gas was on the rise. It was $2.99 at the same station Tuesday. I’m highly tempted to look at something like the 2018 Accord Hybrid for my next car as I have a special disdain for the oil industry and would like to support them as little as I can...

    Smart People

I would only like a home that big if it had radiant heating, and were overall built to be as energy efficient as possible (I know, a bit of an oxymoron being so big in the first place). I would probably choose a more traditional multi story floor plan for something so big (something that's not...

70s time capsule home up for auction

Seems like it needs a wrecking ball. I just couldn't get past how dirty everything looks and I think it was that awful color scheme more so than the fact that everything was dirty. I am curious how well it cools in the summer though. I can just picture that massive room turning into a sauna...

Ahh! Something New Has Been Added! Gain Botanicals Liquid Detergent in Two Irresistible Scents

If it's not Gain Original (and I mean the actual scent, not what P&G marks on the bottle), then I have zero interest.    I'm sure I'll take a whiff of these "botanical" scents next time I'm in Targay and and come back here howling about the horrific assault on my nose.

I need help to choose a new vacuum

I've had my eyes on the Sebo Felix for a few years now. I have mostly hard floors with one carpeted room and some area rugs. It comes with a powernozzle and the parquet brush for hard floors. The machine is extremely versatile and has several more attachment options to choose from. They are...

    Preferred Laundry Space

My current laundry is in the kitchen. I never liked how cramped the closet is and that it's a step up from the kitchen floor (good when I had a FLer though). But that closet is so small only an LG or SQ FLer would fit, or a TL machine. I like the convenience of having it in the kitchen but I'd...

    streetlights/yardlights

You're right they probably were induction. They looked quite old and the light quality was crap. I'm used to everything being HPS and now LED where I live, and municipalities don't have ancient streetlights either. All the LED lights are owned by the utility.

    streetlights/yardlights

When I was in northern NJ recently, driving around at night I noticed they still had many mercury vapor streetlights. They had donut shaped bulbs in them. Noticed a dull white light from them that I'd never seen before, apparently never seen mercury vapor streetlights. Then to my amazement I saw...

2018 Speed Queen...my thoughts have changed..

Eugene very clearly stated recently that his machine is not a pre production model, but a very early production model. Anyone comparing the videos between his and others can clearly see they behave the same. TBH I don't think there's even much that could be changed if they had reprogrammed it...

2018 Speed Queen...my thoughts have changed..

I see absolutely no difference between this machine and Eugenes. The only difference here was that extra rinse was selected. That's more water than even I'm comfortable using.

Well I didn't think I'd be craving fried chicken this early in the day! Now to try your recipe and hope I don't mess it up...

    How Is Everyone Keeping Warm?

Honeywell is doing energy usage reports now. Idk why they just started considering they've been collecting data all this time apparently. Anyway, interesting to see on paper what I already know. The downstairs usage from January 2017 is actually the upstairs from that time period, and the...

    Goofballs on HGTV

That would be funny if in 15 years people start putting walls up in great rooms and making them into regular rooms. I personally like an open concept where there are still individual rooms but they have high ceilings and large doorways between the rooms. Or if the house is so small that...
