We had a MayWick, and it was am excellent baker. I also liked the lift off oven door. Made it easier to clean the oven.. Of course, I do prefer true Self cleaning, but a lift off door is next best. Lawrence/Maytagbear

Another idea.. How about laying it out flat and using a suction only (NO beater bar) vacuum? Hold it flat with one gloved hand, and using the upholstery tool with the other hand? My Dad's flag has never been unfolded since September1965. Lawrence/Maytagbear

However. If you like/ do not mind electric cooking, this is a solidly performing, well-made range. Nothing new comes close. Parts are still fairly available, and there are many people here who are experienced in servicing these ranges. The oven(s) in GE ranges of this era are excellent...

There ARE times...... When a person might not have many choices, and fewer good ones. Here at the nursing home in which I now live, there are two choices for coffee.. very poor, undrinkable stuff from the central kitchen,, Cheap Robusta beans, made poorly, or Keurig, with pods of decent...

I can think of two possibilities...... The sensor might need to be scrubbed with a lightly damp terrycloth, or the grounding may have gone wonky. Our DG502 had the sensors in the vanes, my Dependable Care's sensor was underneath the door opening. Lawrence/Maytagbear

Just a technique suggestion.......... I do not currently cook, here at the retirement home, but when I did, I would prepare everything else first, onions, tomato(es) herbs...and THEN prepare the avocadoes. Lawrence/Maytagbear

Read the bottle.... Not all bleaches are disinfectants. The only way to be certain is to READ THE LABEL, and look for an EPA registration number. If it does not have that number, it is not a disinfectant. Lawrence/Maytagbear
