Always Wanted To Know How To Pronounce "Vernel"

I avoid the entire matter by calling my very most favorite commercial sauce by its name, "Lea and Perrins!" Easier than storebought pie. Lawrence/Maytagbear

1959 Thermador Wall Oven crush: plea for advice

I wish I could be of more help.....but these are/were solid performers, and the great American writer of home baking, Maida Heatter had these wall ovens, I can give no higher accolade. Lawrence/Maytagbear

    JCPenney branded Hardwick range?

We had a MayWick, and it was am excellent baker. I also liked the lift off oven door. Made it easier to clean the oven.. Of course, I do prefer true Self cleaning, but a lift off door is next best. Lawrence/Maytagbear

We had the front loading version, which was introduced a few(?) years later. We got ours in 1973. Ran well with two minor repairs for 20 years, About the filter..It does have a grinder, but this catches the bigger stuff. I just pushed the yibbles through, after it had cooled down. When...

    Laundering the American Flag

Another idea.. How about laying it out flat and using a suction only (NO beater bar) vacuum? Hold it flat with one gloved hand, and using the upholstery tool with the other hand? My Dad's flag has never been unfolded since September1965. Lawrence/Maytagbear

Maytag DG606 Prematurely shuts down despite incomplete drying

I can think of two possibilities...... The sensor might need to be scrubbed with a lightly damp terrycloth, or the grounding may have gone wonky. Our DG502 had the sensors in the vanes, my Dependable Care's sensor was underneath the door opening. Lawrence/Maytagbear

Just a technique suggestion.......... I do not currently cook, here at the retirement home, but when I did, I would prepare everything else first, onions, tomato(es) herbs...and THEN prepare the avocadoes. Lawrence/Maytagbear

Read the bottle.... Not all bleaches are disinfectants. The only way to be certain is to READ THE LABEL, and look for an EPA registration number. If it does not have that number, it is not a disinfectant. Lawrence/Maytagbear
