Continued Adventures with the Whirlpool TotalCoverage DW

I even jotted down notes this time. :D I realized that I've been mistaken this whole time, including on the "Most powerful motor" thread. This machine does three full rinses on Heavy cycle or a heavy induced Sensor cycle, not the purge + two rinses that I originally thought. This is one of the...

Continued Adventures with the Whirlpool TotalCoverage DW

Done! It's late so I won't go into a huge detail, and besides, the pictures can do the talking.... :) I'm honestly, still, surprised by this machine. Even the video test that Whirlpool posted on their Sales Academy site showed the filter mesh full. Granted, they added a frozen pizza, but no...

Continued Adventures with the Whirlpool TotalCoverage DW

As it happens, the trusty 920 is actually powering through a chocolate icing covered yellow cake as we speak, and I have a marked 5 gal. bucket contraption set up to catch the drain water and track how much the machine will use with its heaviest cycle, and see how much of the cake will be gone...

    New Here- My Machines

Welcome to AW, Vacmaster! That's a pretty nice lineup of appliances just from seeing your washer and dishwasher. Exceptionally gorgeous dishwasher, I might add. :D

Henrik - I've used the TargetClean option a couple of times, and it did a fantastic job with the casserole dishes I used it with. It's just a rebranded name for the TurboZone/PowerScour spray bars at the back of the tub, they've just improved it since the early iterations so that the jets are...

Continued Adventures with the Whirlpool TotalCoverage DW

Much to my surprise, again, everything emerged clean! In less than the estimated 2:40 (I think from start to when I noticed it was counting down the 8 minutes of "air drying" was about 2:10). And even more surprisingly, the pan looked like it was scoured with Barkeeper's Friend. Again, with...

Continued Adventures with the Whirlpool TotalCoverage DW

Burnt Pan Test This was done quite a while back (beginning of March I believe), but I forgot to post anything because we were getting ready to leave for Brisbane that week. One thing I've sort of missed on my Whirlpool is a Top Rack Only option, not that I really need it, but it would be fun to...

    Most powerful motor

How can any one say that today's machines can't last 20 years or more? There hasn't been enough time to even make that argument. Come back in 2030 or so and then we'll talk about how long they lasted.   Also, not to beat a dead horse, but I'm pretty sure the current GE "Power Tower" models...

    Most powerful motor

I've only scanned this thread and intend to go back through and fully read, but... <span style="text-decoration: underline; color: #000080;">"So - you can use a vintage Maytag or GE Potscrubber and skip the pre-rinsing and pre-washing you had to do for a KitchenAid or Whirlpool (and which...

    Most powerful motor

I've never really understood the complaints people seem to have about cycle times. I bought the WP 920 dishwasher I have now to replace and relieve my PowerClean from duty, and I love that machine with all my heart, especially after the work and time I put into restoring it to its now...

    New Samsung Dishwasher Design?

They even directly ripped off Whirlpool's new detergent/rinse aid dispenser assembly. It's identical to mine and the ones found in all current WP/KitchenAid/Maytag machines. And the entire bottom of the tub looks like a GE rip off. Every time I see the name "Samsung" I roll my eyes and move...

    Most powerful motor

I feel the members more versed in the technicalities of motor wattages and amps and such can weigh in here, but I concur with Bob about Maytag. They are marketed as having the largest and most powerful motor on the market in today's machine lineups. KitchenAid also seems to have a fairly large...

    Maytag 8100 Front-Loader: Spin Problem

So, I don't know if this is related at all, but my mother-in-law's Whirlpool Cabrio 8500 seems to behave in a similar fashion sometimes...and it's a top loader. It seems that no matter how level the machine is, or what size load it's washing, it seems to periodically decide that it doesn't want...

Maytag Jetclean Plus Dishwasher issue resolved!!

That's awesome!!! You're going to love that machine. I absolutely loved my MDB4709. Yours is a bit fancier with the stainless steel interior and those sharp blue accent flip down racks. It'll be a fantastic machine for years to come.

    Whirlpool vs Samsung vs LG

Right now I'm trying to get through this tub of Cascade Complete w/Clorox (the "power" of Clorox, rather), and then Cascade Plat. rinse aid. My granddad found the Complete pacs on the clearance aisle at Walmart for $3 a tub and bought a stack of them, and gave me two of them. He's such an...

    Whirlpool vs Samsung vs LG

Here actually is the load from last night waiting to be unloaded this morning. Not a particularly packed BobLoad/RobinLoad, but they were fairly dirty with cookie batter caked and dried on the two big spoons. And I did a partial no-no with loading the pan and glass right at the front, but I've...

    Whirlpool vs Samsung vs LG

The WP 780 looks to be a gorgeous machine and is essentially my 920 but without the TotalCoverage arm and the SilverwareSpray zone or the spray zone at the back. To be quite honest, compared to the PowerClean and Voyager WPs with the silverware basket in the door, I've found only a yiblet here...
