I had mod my Huebsch FL to operate at two water levels; the original level aand a higher level by a selector switch at the back. If you do it this way, it may void the warranty.

My Maytag TL from Feb 1996 to Feb 2006 had done about 2500 washes. It would have done 1250 hour if each wash took 30 mins. It is still very strong and is acting as an spare. My Huebsch FL from Feb 2006 to now have done about 430 washes. It would have done 430 hours if each wash took 1 hour.

Seems that sudmaster's suggestion is more logical.

Sudmaster, thanks for sharing your experience on Neptune and Mieles. I have Huebsch FL with heater (sister FL of Speed Queen) which has an horizontal drum. My family likes our FL.
