Washing White Bedding with Ariel - Still stained! :(

Use Liquid detergent As much as powders are great, I much prefer liquid detergents, as you can pretreat the stain by rubbing some on, and leaving it to soak in before washing and 9 times out of 10 it removes the stain completely. Liquids penetrate the fabrics surface quicker than a powder, as...

    Low temperature put on test

Low Temperature Washing I do wash at Low Temperatures of 30/40 degrees. And I do find that things come out nice and white, but I don't wash at low temps for everything. I personally wouldn't wash everything at 30 degrees as the machine needs a hot wash to flush out the pipes. In regards to...

    Bosch Classixx freebie! :-D

Good Find Darren - I have the 1000 model WFL2063 My Beko broke down in June, the programme dial failed and the PCB packed in, so decided to replace it with a second hand reconditioned Bosch washer. I have the Bosch Classixx 1000 WFL2063. Its a great machine. It has the long 2 hour cotton wash...

    Advice on washing whites please!

I wash whites at 40 I used to wash whites at 60 now I use 40, a normal wash at 40 will suffice just about everything apart from towels and sheets which I do on 60. If the sheets are brightly coloured I'd wash at 40 or 60 but if washing at 60 use a gentle/colour/Liquid detergent. Darks I...

What is your Favorite Detergent/Cleaner Scent?

Old P&G formulas - Ariel, Bold and Lenor Ariel Alpine was great wasn't it? My friends mum washed one of my t-shirts in it (I was about 10), and I wouldn't take it off because I loved the smell. I think Ariels formula and branding in general was its best when it was in that font (pics 1 & 2)...

What is your Favorite Detergent/Cleaner Scent?

Detergent Scents I miss and ones I dislike Ariel Washing Powder from the 90s till 2005/06 when they reformulated it - Sweet Grassy Scent which was pleasant before they turned it to a stinky pine citrusy chemical fragrance. Ariel Alpine Powder Daz Automatic/Daz Ultra - 1990s - Lovely smell...

What is your Favorite Detergent/Cleaner Scent?

Favourite Detergents - UK Daz washing powder (equal to Gain in the US) - Smells like line dried cotton (wonderful) Formil Non Bio Powder - Smells like old fashioned soap powder from years ago, simple soapy smell Persil Small and Mighty Non Bio Liquid - Has a lovely soapy smell with...

    Lenor Unstoppable Beads

Ive seen that Ariel Advert too. I never understood why they scrapped the roller ball from Ariel (see 1997 advert below for Ariel Futur liquid), as that was an innovative product. I loved Ariel Futur liquid in the 1990's, it smelt wonderful! Nothing like the stench we have today! I've...

    Lenor Unstoppable Beads

@rolls_rapide You can still get Vanish Pre-Treatment Bar, and its still in the shame diamond shape. They discontinued Fairy green soap a couple of years ago but you can still spot it on ebay, but its very expensive...

    Lenor Unstoppable Beads

@electron1100 Excellent! its done a great job, just makes you think that a simple bar of household soap is excellent at shifting stains compared to all this Vanish crap which is a waste of money! Unfortunately Persil makes me itch, I used the bio and non bio powder for a while in very small...

    Lenor Unstoppable Beads

Out of P&G's detergents I like Daz washing powder as it washes well, and the scent is tolerable (compared to Ariel powder which has a pungent odour I can't stand) and when on offer in Tesco at £4 for a 40 wash box i buy a couple of boxes, and use about 75ml per wash. I'm currently using Lidl...

    Lenor Unstoppable Beads

@electradeluxe If you use plain green washing up liquid, that would get it out better than that Vanish Gold rubbish. I tend to pretreat really greasy marks with washing up liquid and rinse it out before I put it through the wash. Remember the window test from all those years ago? Putting...

Another Piece of Crap P&G is Trying to sell people Why do we need our clothes to smell fresh for up to 12 weeks, I only want my clothes to smell fresh up until I need to wash it again. Its completely unnecessary and more chemicals to flush down the drain! I'm not happy with P&G...First they...

    The First 24/7 Outdoor Launderette

I've heard of photography kiosks, but an outdoor launderette, £8 for a large 18kg load, £4 for an 8kg load. and £1 to dry. 24/7 Access. Adds an eco friendly liquid detergent to the wash, so no detergent needed. Its an interesting idea, but I wouldn't use it, it could get vandalised, and ruined...

    Own Brand

own brand detergents Almats detergents are very good, they are lightly fragranced too which I like. Nothing worse than opening the door to remove your clothes which have a heavy disgusting headachy fragrance. I tend to alternate between brands. At the moment I'm using Fairy Powder, Fairy Gel...

    Persil Liqui Tabs

Powder for Whites - Gel for Colours I definately use "colour protect" detergents, I noticed a difference when I was using ordinary powder detergent with oxygen bleach in that my colours, particularly dark blues and blacks, were gradually getting a white hue. I recently bought some new clothes...

    Comfort Pure - Residue

Fairy I dont find it that bad, though there are bubbles at the end of the wash in the door seal, If I'm using conditioner, then the bubbles are eliminated. I love the smell though :). My aunty uses Daz and Comfort Blue Skies.
