    Burner problems, Frigidaire Flair RCIB-645

That model Flair was manufactured from 1960 through 1963 and was the top-of-the-line model. Finding parts to restore the heat-minder and the speed-heat to their original condition is possible but will be a project. Every year the specialty parts that were used in those become more difficult to...

Early GE P*7 Range, What Color is this?

I'm sure it's canary yellow. Canary was certainly still available in 1964. According to the brochures that I have it was gone by 1967.

Free 1958/1959 Frigidaire Dishwasher in metropolitan Chicago

According to MY service lit, the heater did not come on until the machine was full of water. A 45 second fill on these machine generally equalled about a 1.5 gallon fill of water.   The 1958 machines did not heat until the chamber was full of water.   The 1959 did not do that either. That...

    thanksgiving dressing

This is my family recipe. It hails from southwestern Germany and is truly a dressing and not a stuffing. It is heavy and hearty. DO NOT attempt to make this dressing inside of a bird unless you want to be in the ER later in the day! This is an oral recipe that is memorized. Amounts are...

Whirlpool Corporation Introduces New Hybrid Heat Pump Dryer Technology, HybridCare™

@logixx #62.   Thanks for those numbers. What is suspect is NOT included in those numbers is some way to account for the heated or air-conditioned air that is removed from your house over the course of drying a load of laundry. This air needs to be made up somehow.    Now for those in the...

in an electric oven on "bake" mode, does only the LOWER heating rod activate, or both lower/upper??

In the "older" days, the upper element on many electric ranges operated at reduced power during bake. Most Frigidaires simply operated the upper element at 120 volts instead of 240 so you would get 1/4 the normal amount of heat. Some models added a resistor to reduce that amount even a bit...

    Please help--Grease removing laundry detergent?

I hate to plug "boutique" products here, but for over 40 years my mother has kept a supply of Stanley products "Degreaser" in her arsenal and swears by it. I can attest that it worked miracles on dress clothes of our entire family back in the 1990s. I have not studied its chemical properties...

Very early Maytag dryer avail in Salt Lake City area

No. Quite different.  These dryers were much more similar to the early Hamilton/GE low airflow dryers.

Very early Maytag dryer avail in Salt Lake City area

That is a 1954-1956 model 61C forced air electric dryer. Quite rare. The "port" in the lower right-hand corner is the lint drawer. If this were a gas model there would be an access panel on the top in the rear-rh corner for access to the valve and ignitor.

    GE 1955 side open lid!

If you look CAREFULLY at the illustration, the indentation on the top that you would put your fingers into to lift the lid is still on the front. Can you imagine how awkward it would be to place your fingers in the front and then have the lid open to the side??? I think we have an illustrator...

    Frigidaire RIS-45-56

I don't have that particular full tech-talk. It's one of only a handful that I am missing 1939-1979. :( I do have the 1950-1959 tech-talk digest which would have basic info and wiring diagrams if you are interested in that.
