How would one check a frigidaire three wire burner from a 1950 range? do you disconnect the wires running to the terminals and check for resistance? which color of the terminals do you check?

Here you go:

You will need to disconnect the leads and then test the following three combinations.

6" 1450 watt 3-wire burner: black to blue - 105 ohms, blue to red - 73 ohms, black to red - 52 ohms

6" 1250 watt "Speed-Heat" 2-wire burner (1955 on): black to blue: 10 ohms

8" 2050 watt 3-wire burner: black to blue - 70 ohms, blue to red - 50 ohms, black to red - 38 ohms

8" 2600 watt 3-wire burner (1958 & 1959 only): black to blue - 81 ohms, blue to red - 47 ohms, black to red - 36 ohms

thanks

Thanks for the reply.
I have the service manual for the range and it shows the technician using a test bulb that either glows dim or bright. I guess this was before multimeters came into use.
