USDA Approved Lab grown no-kill Chicken heading to a store near you.

Lab grown meat of all varieties are on the horizon. If it keeps animals from suffering I'm all for it. I wonder what the nutrition levels will be... and taste and consistency. But people have been eating perfectly shaped nuggets for decades now so I don't think most people will be too...

    ALLLRIGHTY Then, who wants 'er?

An oxalic acid solution in a spray bottle will do wonders on that iron. It's what's under the wash basket that is most concerning. But it does look salvageable for a 50 year old washer.

gold and diamonds are free...if you are willing to look and dig for them...get your hands dirty for a bit.   If you want to buy them all shined up and clean, you'll pay the fees for others to have done the work.

Not So Fast re: "Banning" Gas Stoves

#10 All homes (or nearly all) have electric already. Only 55% of homes have gas or propane for their principal type of home heating. Theoretically, all anyone has to do to switch to electric home heating is to buy some electric heaters and plug them in in their home. Electric can do...

Not So Fast re: "Banning" Gas Stoves

#8 When you say you have a gas stove and oil heat, does that mean you have a propane stove with some kind of tank outside just for the stove or do you have a gas service piped to the home from the street? The oil for home heating, which a lot of NE states residents still have for home heating...

    Supermarket Shopping Circa 1971

Looks familiar lol That pile of oranges still looks good. It must have taken stockers time to get them just right. Thank-goodness they now are usually in bags. https://www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?90855_68~1

    Nicely updated MCM home

Thanks Michiganders for the update. It's a beautiful state. Imho it seems like politically things are getting better. I remember when the "manager" came in and mucked up things. There does genuinely seem to be people moving back to Detroit and reinvigorating that after many MANY years of...

Not So Fast re: "Banning" Gas Stoves

Benzene is highly toxic I want to know why years ago (and still today) it was stated that gas dryers should not be operated inside a structure without venting outdoors; yet gas stoves one could practically heat their homes with the open flame. That doesn't work. One could have a standing...

    Vintage Refrigerator

Oh Wow OMG Thank you for that Launderess. It's like stepping back in time to a 1950ish movie set and then into a 1970s office. That's so awesome. It just amazes me when this kind of stuff is just found, sitting somewhere like. Has been for a long time.

Look at those retro lunchboxes.... and the dust on them. Would like to know the story here. Vacant, abandoned apartment building perhaps. I wonder how long it's been sitting there.

When I think of Flint... I mean Michigan and other Great Lakes states are blessed to be surrounded by fresh water. That's something L.A. , Phoenix, texas, and the slithery subsiding sandbar state of Florida surrounded by useless salt water, can only DREAM of. Yet Michigan managed to screw up...

    Vintage avocado appliance set- unused!

Whats going on here? The cabinets, hardware, flooring, and walls say hello it's 2006. The appliances say welcome to 1975.

    The END of Kenmore

Is Kenmore done? ... or almost done? Checking the Sears site I found: one stove, one above the range microwave, no refrigerators, 4 chest freezers, 2 standard top load washers, 1 dryer available in gas or electric, 1 dishwasher, 4 canister vacs, and a smattering of small appliances. All stuff...

    Nicely updated MCM home

As is often the case THESE DAYS, the BEFORE pics are often of a desirable house that may or may not need a standard cleaning and fair lighting and camera positioning Whereas the AFTER pics are .....a total disgrace. I'm to the point where I don't even bother with the after pics. Often all one...

What type of Kenmore washer is this?

This is the same washer I bought my mother in 1999 along with a matching electric dryer. I got them from the Sears warehouse when one could still get actual good deals at the warehouse. They were both floor models and had never been used so they were complete with books and hardware. The...

    "bad"automotive engines 2000 and newer...

Anything made by Chry-sler should be avoided. There is currently an over 900 days supply of their new crap sitting on dealers lots. No one wants the junk.

Vintage kenmore dryer with broken door switch

It's practically a common hardware piece since Whirlpool has been making this dryer, in one format or another since the 60s. https://www.thriftyapplianceparts.com/replacement-279347-w10820036-washer-dryer-door-switch-for-kenmore/?gad=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7_OK1srQ_wIVqgOtBh2jsA_tEAQYAyABEgKwM_D_BwE

Dark Window on New LG Front Load Washer

I know it's a long shot but I wonder if removing the glass section of the door and soaking it in water, or some other substance, for a few days would allow the water to loosen the pieces so they can be pulled apart. Maybe using a hair dryer heat source to warm them so they can be pulled apart?
