Probably not the temp you're uncomfortable with.Huge rooftop units that are not staged correctly sound like the issue.Mild temps along with high humidity are a disaster for big box store A/C systems. The compressor doesn't run long enough to remove the humidity, making you feel balmy.
TRUE--I do like them but they are a thin and easily damaged condenser.Huge fight last month with Trane over this issue on a rooftop unit.I strongly suggest hardware cloth to protect it or a factory hail guard. One good hit from a projected lawn mower pebble and bye bye thousand bucks.
Martin,
I agree that there are shady installers.I was merely pointing out that the owner/builder of the structure usually picks which mechanical systems are actually installed.Usually the cheapest wins out.
Shady incompetent contractors are another issue and man could I tell some stories...
Martin,
The installer would not have a say in the decision as he would certainly be adhering to the mechanical drawings for the building being constructed. There are plenty of mechanical engineering firms submitting their ideas to the idiot upper management of each firm.Pennies sometimes...
I remember those Tim.I took a razor knife and cut it mostly out,It made a normal toilet out of it.I like a toilet that flushes like Al Bundy's--BAWOOSH.
WOW-I have that toilet also and the same flapper did make it better.I then placed a 1 inch pvc coupling atop the flush valve riser to raise the water level. You don't even have to glue it on-Try it

I had stubborn heating elements on water heaters round off because they were so stuck. They never won against a hammer and chisel at a slight angle though. That's called an extreme impact wrench and it never failed.Try that at last resort.
Way to go Travis, I guess an antique and vintage appliance lovers website is the wrong place to talk efficiency. If you Love it and can afford it --Buy it, operate it.
