Maytag dryer bell dongs, not dings.

We also have a 712. There was a piece of plastic with a small metal rivet looking thingy in it. When the solenoid would engage, that plastic thingy would swing back and forth on the solenoid mechanism and smack the bell if that makes sense? That plastic piece is NLA. I have looked around for...

    Matching Maytags

Reply 15 We have a tankless gas on demand water heater. We also have 2 sets of the older full sized Bosch front load laundry that is not shown in the picture. The front load sets are the go to for most things.

    Matching Maytags

More matching We have a few of those matching Maytags. Congratulation on your latest acquisition! (left-to-right) A matched set of A712/DE712"s, an A613, and a DG512. On a side note, with having solar and the heat here in the NE, I have been trying to run the electric dryer (712) as much as...

    Happy Maytag Month!

Not nearly as nice as some other members machines, but here are our mid to late 80's Maytag examples. Left to right. A matched set of 712's. A 613 washer. And a DG512 dryer.

Door will not close Bosh Next 700

Make sure the lock is not in the "closed" position. If it is, you should be able to use a paper clip to flip to the open position.

    Bosch Washer/Dryer

We currently have a set of Bosch Nexxt and Vision. The Nexxt set I got new in late 06' It has never stopped. The only problem we have had with the Vision set is the motor control on the washer went bad. The Nexxt washer is the best washer I have ever had in terms of cleaning. The set in the...

Did any vintage Maytag washers offer an extra rinse option?

As I recall, Maytag was late in the second rinse game. If I remember right, it was offered on the electronic control stacks in the mid to late 80's. It didn't hit the regular full sized/separate models until 1990. Even then it was only offered on the upper end models. It wasn't until the mid...

    A806 repairs not going well

I used metal electrical boxes to keep the springs “expanded” You will have to push/pull the tub the opposite direction of the spring. You are basically getting the spring to stretch as far as possible then slide the electrical box in to keep it expanded. I fine it easier to do the 2 rear...

    Bosch speed 60 cycle

The speed cycle should use both arms at the same time with a strong running pump. Our 800 series does and you can hear it. Ours is running at this moment and I can hear it switch spray arms on "Auto".

    Looking for advise

Not sure what model Maytag you got but keeping those would be my vote. We have 2 Maytag washers and 1 dryer. They keep running and running.

    Maytag A511 Agitator Question

IIRC I think the blue/white tub started as a small/large capacity thing. If I am correct, the whole blue/white tub thing changed from capacity to speeds? Meaning 1sp was blue, and white was 2sp? As I recall, the blue tub disappeared in the late 80's or with the "1990 automatics".

Slow, long stroke agitation versus short, fast stroke

Reply #8 The electronic dry seems to do a nice job. 95% of the loads I dry come out perfect. As with most dryers, the only exception is heavy and dense items like bath rugs that may need a little extra time.

Slow, long stroke agitation versus short, fast stroke

Currently have the best of both worlds. I was faced with only keeping 1 of the washers for a moment but ended up keeping both. 1 short/fast and 1 long/slow. I actually like the short/fast a bit better. Both work, seem to wash ok, spin is the same of course. I have found that the short/fast seems...

    Maytag A806

Just a thought Check the upper right (if facing the machine) rear of the machine. The older ones had the tag on the back. It would explain the top being replaced and why there does not appear to have ever had a tag attached.

    Maytag Load Sensing Agitator

IIRC Both the load sensor and later NON load sensor agitators were not meant to be taken apart. As peterh770 indicated above, the far left piece in his picture was glued/epoxied in place. I had one of the original "demo" LSA that separated on its own and would no longer work. The auger and base...

Maytag electic dryer for sale $75 OBO

I am offering this Maytag dryer to AWO club members. It is not anything fancy. Model/serial info is in the pictures. Comes with a 4 prong cord but can be converted to 3 prong. Dryer would chatter a little with really large loads (towels) but otherwise dried clothes fine and Auto Dry DOES...
