Thank you sfh074 for the link but this particular machine is the GM Frigidaire 1-18 and the seal that is for sale there fits the 1980 and above after White Consolidated bought out GM.

Could anyone here identify what is used as a replacement for the felt seal on 1-18 dryers?  I seem to remember some mention of it here before and something about a Maytag seal as a suitable replacement?  I have searched our archives with no help to be found.   Thanks, Joe

As the owner of two of them in that age range I'm going to say the 1-18.  I just wish they had made one with the Rapidry 1010 rpm like in the solid tub models.

I'd certainly like to buy a setup like countryguy's  I love that mint green with the chrome!

So, they can't handle some constructive criticism about their products.  This highly suggests they know this is not as good as the former.  Screw them and their new fangled pieces of crap.  I wouldn't have that damn thing in my house!

That's a lovely Frigidiare.  That control panel color doesn't come around often.  I'm fortunate to have the same panel on my white '76 Custom.  I think it's a very svelte design.
