I've been working on Frigidaire caps and rings and love the '58-'62 color combination. Frigidaire must have loved it too because their ad campaign during those years showed the agitator column in just about every ad they put out. I was lucky enough to be given a near pristine (Bojack generic) set to borrow for color reference while reproducing the cap and rings. Every original Frigidaire example of cap or rings that I have are in terrible shape to reference color.
Not believing that these Bojack cap and rings actually were produced to exact Frigidaire colors, some of the originals I had were "sacrificed" to obtain the real color. One of my yellow lint rings and one of my coral circulator rings were so bad, I filleted them open to obtain fresh rubber and color. I then took them to the local PPG auto paint shop and had them use their fancy scanning machine to "read" the color of the lint, circulator and '61 cap I sacrificed. I then had them scan the 3 Bojack examples and they converted all values to an RGB equivalent. The Bojack examples turned out to be very close! I then took the Bojack cap and rings to Homer's and had them scan and make paint samples, so I could make big color swatches to reference from, when mixing rubber resin and dyes to match.
I then started thinking my laundry room should be painted using these colors, being the true die-hard Frigidaire (*nut*) that I am! If anyone else would like the color formulas, here they are. Homer's can easily convert these back to gallon and quart sizes since they made these 1/2 pint sample sizes.
It is also good to see that Frigidaire has not abandoned these colors. This picture below is found on their current website under "Washers". The towels in their latest washer offering reuses these same classic colors, 56+ years later!!
