Well Friends,
it is all over now and I have my money back. I have no idea to this day why neither the wringer or agitator worked right. I have my SQ that I got NIB that is 2 years older and had never been used. It works great in all respects. I did have to put a new belt on her tho. The...
Well,
what a mess this auction was. I drove over 4 hours to pick up this washer only to find out that in deed it was new but did not work. The wringer did not run in reverse and the agitator did not work. I have no idea why they didn't work but I was sick. It was spotless. The electric...
Well Robert,
it was simply scathing that I could not get into my favorite place on line yesterday. Of all the audacity !!!! No excuses you have can be accepted. LOL. OK now for the real story. Thank you for all you do for us with no pay coming into your pocket. I make several trips here...
Hi Brad,
I have not run across any yet but always have my eyes open for a good deal no matter what brand it is. I do have quite a lot of manuals and brochures. I at one time had them cataloged but have gotten behind of late. Sometimes they are prevalent and other times they are not...
I have been told
that SQ stopped making wringers in 1991, including all of the badged ones. My Mom and Gramma both had speed queens with the red/blue knobs to empty the tub with. The drain spout had hose threads and so Mom put a short hose on hers to run it over to the floor drain. Gramma...
This is my latest find. I go to pick it up in a week from today. It is not in the box but has never been used. Should I remove the paper from the rolls and use her or just sit and look at her? I am pretty sure I am going to use her but save the papers. Where will I put her you ask? I have...
I too
use a wringer washer weekly for all of my laundry. I have been doing this since Aug of 2011 when I got my first Maytag E. I don't have a lint problem either prolly because I dry in the dryer. I do have a vintage Maytag lint filter agibitator for mine but have never used it because it...
Thanks Robert,
for all of the extra hard work you put into this for all of us to enjoy. But, most especially, thanks for adding some wringer washer info for us wringer lovers. Best to you BOTH !!

I will certainly look tomorrow to see if I have the manual you need and make a copy of it for you if I do. I won't be able to put it up here because to be quite frank I have no idea how to do it and don't have a scanner. Not quite into the 20th century yet let alone the 21st here...
Amazing !!!
You did a beautiful job Brad !!!!! Glad I had the manual for you. I have lots more of varied brands if anyone needs a copy. I like !!!!!

Thanks to hippiedoll
for posting in another thread about a web site to find out appliance manufacture date !! I found out this SQ Wringer was built in May of 1990. I have the sales receipt that is dated May of 1991. It was a year old when it was purchased here in Ohio at Lehman's Hardware...
Thanks hippiedoll
for this info on dating. I was able to date my NIB SQ Wringer I recently purchased. Up until now I had no way of dating it. It was built in May of 1990 according to the web site. Thanks Again !!

A Maytag
wringer washer equipped with a pump and wheels could be rolled down the sidewalk and literally put a fire out at the house next door !! They are so strong it is unbelievable. I have one with and 4 without. I have to attach a short hose to the one that has a pump and literally stick...

This information was posted here quite awhile ago and I kept it. This is just for information. Post war Maytag Wringers had the following types/colors of agitators in them. This info was for the E, N and J. I don't know who originally posted this but I thank them again.
Aluminum...
Great buy !!
She looks very clean and that agitator is awesome. If you post the serial number we can date her for you and then we will know what type agitator she had in her when new. Let us know her serial number with all the numbers and letters.

I had to replace the motor on my Maytag E and got one for $25 plus shipping from Phil in NY. He has almost any part available and reasonably priced. I was happy to hear that the lint filter "agibitator" was cracked to begin with. Those old Bakelite ones grew very brittle with age and...
