    pyrex and corningware?

okay, today's goodwill find... today's Goodwill find was 2 "Grab and serve" or whatever they are called bowls (LOL). From an engineering perspective I'm not sure there's any better glass material ever made.

anybody know where I can get an electromatic pot? I'd like one of the electric percolators -- and will be careful about them -- but Ebay cancels the auctions. Other sources? Nate

electromatic skillet Well...maybe I shouldn't confess this, but I just found an electromagnetic skillet for 5.99 at Goodwill. Oh, I already had the 10 " fryer to go with it ... Nate

Panthera, thank you! Panthera, thank you for your great comments. The fact of the matter is, folks, none of you know me. Heck some of you have met each other, but I daresay most of the board has never met. Having said that, it is very dangerous for anyone to draw conclusions based on...

who is a religious or political radical? I happen also to be an appliance collector. And if you think I'm a religious radical, you're absolutely wrong. If you think I'm a political radical, well, I suppose you also mean that free speech is radical? Being safe and secure in your home and...

    *RIP* Charlton Heston

why, thank you. As y'all can probably guess I'm a supporter of the right to keep and bear arms. In general, the people who commit crimes with guns are CRIMINALS. There are by conservative estimates 40 million gun owners in the country, and by not so conservative estimates, 100 million gun...

    *RIP* Charlton Heston

well...Mr. Heston hasn't been president of the NRA for s Mr. Heston has not been NRA president for several years. He's simply a celebrity who has had his name associated with it. I cannot speak for his homophobia, but anyone who marched with MLK certainly had courage of his convictions. As a...

Hell, man, that's what good politicsl discourse is about No worries panthera. I am an equal opportunity skewerer. I agree with you, I'm very pragmatic too - how can you not be in this world? I do believe in holding on to your highest ideals, though, as I have GOT to have something to hope...

who said I support Republicans? Just for the record -- I think the Dems and Repubs are two sides of the same evil coin -- Libertarianism and freedom is the only real solution. As for a national ID card, you will remember that it was Mr. Clinton who signed HIPPA which created a national...

    *RIP* Charlton Heston

Actually, I'd say that it was Mr. Clinton who did that. Frankly, panthera, I'd say it was Mr. Clinton who portrayed gun owners as evil reactionaries. Heston's presidency of the NRA was in reaction to that. Nate

The most bizarre groovy 60's Westy promotion

you know, it's interesting. We're in the middle of designing our new kitchen. It's going to look very much like the old one; we're not moving any of the services, adding a second under counter oven next to the stove, etc. BUT: Neither of us like stainless steel. We've gotten a white range from...

    Speaking of Game Shows

It is interesting to see... Forget about the stupid answers, though they were funny. But it was intersting to see: 1. Hair styles that emphasized combed hair in place, even if we don't necessarily think that this is a 'good' style anymore. 2. A people that aren't required to have PERFECT...

    Happy Birthday Bette Davis!

Baroness Thatcher.. Way to go, Laundress. One of my coworkers was mistaking my dislike of Hilary for not wanting women in government. I simply said "If I had a candidate like Mrs. Thatcher to vote for, ther ewould be no question of voting for her!" Nate
