1965 whirlpool washer and dryer found

Filtering lights Hi Phil, The lights come on when it's filtering, I guess. I need to read the manual! You said there are two lights in the dial area? Where are they located? I nene to retrofit this as it would have come from whirlpool. Thanks!

Lighted? Well this set was not equipped with lights. I'm trying to find a suitable socket for the timers. However I did install the fluorescent lights. Here they are doing their thing.

finally got my maytag 806 washer & 808 dryer!!!

Success! Very cool!! The same set my parents had when I was in Jr.high. Nice that you can do some maintenance, and use them. I am relatively new to the group, and have acquired a few machines. They can definitely be challenging! Not for the faint of heart. Enjoy the journey! Marty

1965 whirlpool washer and dryer found

Congratulations Thanks guys! The washer has VERY little use.. Chrome is shiny with zero pitting. Bakelite agitator is very shinny. It appears it sprung a leak, and got put to the side. An elderly lady passed on, and the house was sold with the appliances. The new owner wanted them gone, as...

1965 whirlpool washer and dryer found

I found an ad on the local craigslist, for a washer and dryer. Upon a closer look I realized it was a turquoise set and mid sixties. I went to look at it today, and couldn't pass it up. Here are a few pictures, with more to come later.

A Ford in every driveway -

Tub indexing Jon, Earlier you mentioned you had to fix the glitch of the tub indexing. What did you do to fix this? I assume you mean the tub turned while it was agitating? Mine does that as well. Also, I found the grooved ring for the agitator, it was in the dryer! It had a tear in it, so I...

    Frigidaire wo65

Trades Thanks Ben! Do you think I would be better off with the black tower, or should I try to find a salt shaker style? I am only missing the shaker and metal cap. I am an Originality freak, a sickness really. We should have a parts for sale or trade section. As well as looking for. Robert...

Black rings Christfr, My wo65 just arrived from Mark.(lightedcontrols). I sure am interested how many are out there. Rolll call! So you are saying black rings are the hardest to find? This machine is missing the salt shaker style tower. It has a 1955 style tower, and a black measuring cup...

    OK. I'm stumped!

Stumped I believe they have a screw head on the outside of the tub.. You must remove the sheet metal on the outside of the dishwasher, to access them. Or remove tub obviously.

Question, How many of these machines are known in our club? Question, What color of pulsator rings are the hardest to find? And, what agitator center is Mia the most?

1950's Kelvinator Dryer with the "Do All" dial

Do all dial dryer I was wondering if anyone out there knows who ended up with the dryer in this thread? OR. Does anyone know where I might inquire for a dryer just like it? I have just about finished with the washer mate, and would love to match it up. Thanks for your help! Marty

    NIB - GE Dishwasher Impeller

Supply and demand What blows my mind when it comes to the complaining about prices? Have any of you researched the price of replacement parts for new machines? Very expensive! Same mindset comes into play with many vintage car parts. I know of a situation where a gentleman had a pair of NOS...

CNC part I had the mounting portion of the agitator base made by a CNC machine. It fits perfectly. However I think I am missing the filter ring? I also can't figure out how the boot stays in place on the base. Anyone want to set me straight? Marty
