    Sears Roebuck & Company

The same shoddy companies they have used for a couple decades or more. My neighbor just had his Kenmore washer repaired under extended warranty. Around here they use A&E (owned by Sears): https://www.aefactoryservice.com/

    Frozen Foods

not anymore I took early retirement a couple years ago (57). I used to take frozen meals to work for the convenience (mostly Stouffer's). Now that I don't have to, I won't eat that ever again. Not healthy at all. I will make frozen REAL chicken tenders, fries, and a few other frozen foods...

chetlaham It has nothing to do with poor washing machines. We've probably all used them, and got over it. It's reviving threads well over a decade old, to say the same thing over and over.

ge All I know about you, is that you like to revive very old threads to repeat the same crap again and again. I know how well my TC5 works, and it wasn't available in 2013 when this thread started! And you don't appear to own any of your own appliances. How much experience can you really have?

Really???? Reviving an 11 year old thread again? To disagree about an 11 year old opinion. Get a life.

Best Microwave Ever Built For Home Use

Ever since I got my first Panasonic 1300 watt Inverter, that's all I'll buy. Imagine being able to thaw chicken or beef without cooking it at all. The power levels are actually variable, instead of turning on and off for different amounts of time.. The first one I had lasted 12 years, and was...

Modern washer the fills all the way

What the heck indeed! Another 7 year old thread rises to the top. With nothing new added.

You pay for what you get...

Your luck is just very bad. How is my luck very bad? I didn't buy one.

You pay for what you get...

$500 top load washer 4 of these would not last as long as one Speed Queen. It broke after 5 loads. At just over two months old, I've done 24 loads on my SQ. Your math is bad.

Houses are actually more affordable than ever, More affordable than ever? Not sure where you get that from. And interest is more than doubled from just a couple years ago... https://cdn-0.inflationdata.com/articles/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Inflation-Adjusted-Home-Prices.png Won't even...

It's That Time Of Year Again! What Is Your AC Thermostat Set To?

69 during the day, 68 at night (sometimes 67). I have insulated and sealed the house extremely well. On a 90 degree day the AC doesn't usually even turn on until 4 or 5 pm. Electric bill is around $120 in July and August. Less than $20 more than in the winter when the AC isn't running. Well...

    New small ACs-inflation!

Used to cool my whole house to about 70-71 with a 8000 BTU window unit. House is very well insulated and sealed. Problem is it ran all day except when sleeping. Not only was it noisy, but cost about $50+ a month to run, and didn't control humidity well. Put central AC in a few years ago, cost...

    overloading SQ

I always think there are new threads, and then realize it's just the same guy reviving old threads, but 15 years old? Most forums ban people for this behavior.

    Speed Queen purchase

Warranty The other difference in warranty between the TC5 and commercial models, is that the commercial models have a parts only warranty. No labor.

    Speed Queen purchase

I got a new TC5003 one month ago. It has worked very well. It is a little louder than my 35 year old Maytag was, but not by much. Not even sure why that matters, I never do laundry while I'm sleeping. I have found the "bulky/sheets" setting to be my preferred cycle. Uses a little more water...

Speed Queen LWN432SP115TW01, yet another question

BTW, I have the TC5003WN, slightly different machine, but I believe the tub and drive mechanism are the same.

Speed Queen LWN432SP115TW01, yet another question

Indexing Mine indexes a small amount, maybe an inch at most. It's just over three weeks old and done 8 or 9 loads so far. I have read the indexing will stop as the tub brakes wear in. So they are probably not worn in yet.

    New Washer Day this Thursday!

That seems decent Seems like a decent price for the pair, if that was delivered. Our local appliance store had the SQ marked $1329, just like all the online dealers, but were willing to deal. Probably could have got a few bucks off the Maytag or GE's as well with free delivery, but didn't ask...
