That would be a direct drive Design 2000 washer. From the mid 80's when they first came out.

And not to mention the freezing on the hands too. I hung laundry out once in the winter and that was it ..once! My hands were so cold...and yes I tried to hang the clothes out with mittens and gloves on but it was a pain. In the winter I just open the window behind my dryer and let the air flow...

You should be able to grab the agitator near the base and pull up. Not on the base itself but where the vane come and make the turn. There is a drive bell that the agitator is clipped to. You will see what I mean when you pull it out.

Nice machine. I never realized how low that rinse arm hung. I can imagine that it would get nailed and snapped off. Great find!

Will that fit in the back of a car? I am actually toying with the idea of getting it. And how much does it weigh?

They are nice I have to say but I did notice one thing though that they are made in Mexico...both washer and dryer. My Miele 4800 did cost about $1600 and the dryer was a cool $ 1000. That set wasnt cheap. Yet they were not made in Germany ...try the Czech Republic. Maddening to say the least...

Greg usually those machines were quiet...its noisy when the transmissions get out of whack. It will still agitate but oh man is it loud and sounds like a freight train when something is going to fail. A couple we know in Florida had an Amana set and the washer was so noisy you could hear it all...

I use and love the new Gillette Fusion razor. The blades last me quite a long time. My partner on the other hand goes thru a blade a week since he shaves his head. He bought that battery operated razor sharpener that is on tv and in a nutshell...it doesnt work...makes the blade worse. So that...

My feeling is this...when Thomas started this thread he was sharing pics of his new "boyfriend" and all that people were asking was to see a pic of them together...nothing more than that. Not pics of them going at it with heels in the air and gawd knows what. I think it was a legit thing to ask...

If you cant find an agitator you can always use an exacto knife to trim the area of the chip and then sand it down with sand paper. Works like a charm everytime and saves you the trouble of yanking the agitator out.

If it was moi I would take that crow and choke the living crap out it...but thats me. Sounds to me that you are in paradise. Maybe if you took that crow in hand and choke it and make it spit then it wont crow again for awhile.....

You know that would work for a top rack. i should have saved the one I had in my KitchenAid KUDS 23 since it was nylon coated and there was no rust. I didnt even think about saving them when I was overcome with Miele Madness. i wonder if I could recoat the areas that are rusted with that rack...
