Identify these 1960s machines? Possibly EASY?

Found this 1965-vintage advert on Flickr, no identification of the washer and dryer pair was given. I THINK that the text on the machines says "EASY", but the resolution is too low to tell, unfortunately... http://https//www.flickr.com/photos/peppermint_kiss_kiss/5869640775/in/faves-wpnschick/

    Introducing The AEG 46200 TopLader

Could you try and get rid of this in favour of a Miele W174 or similar that'll let you fiddle about?

    Wascomat Crossover 27" commercial-grade front-loader

Thought this might be of some interest, as I've not heard about it before. People complain about the build quality of Electrolux domestic front-loaders, but it looks like they will sell this commercial-grade version to domestic customers, and hopefully it'll prove durable in a domestic...

Which FL Washer Has Highest Temperature Boost Heater?

Why would the Octoplus machines not meet residential standards? OK, I think I'm right in saying they've got no door boot, so perhaps a bit of risk of kids' fingers getting stuck, but that doesn't stop the Askos being sold? All a bit odd IMO. I also think it's rather a shame they discontinued...

    Blomberg Dryer Smell

I'm already paying MUCH more for natural gas than I am for electricity. I also would never have a gas dryer on safety grounds. Electric dryers are inflammable enough as they are without adding combustion heating into the mix!

    Talk about junk!

400 bucks is still quite a lot for something this simple - it's on rollers, there are no bearings, it's vented, not condensing, there's no heat pump, it should be cheap as chips to make, so for it to fail so soon is unforgivable. 400 bucks is plenty to make a good solid basic vented dryer...

    Frigidaire Designers

Frigidaire tried to get some market share in Europe with those control-tower pulsator machines, but the market wasn't too keen on top-loaders and especially not on machines with no internal heaters. Given that they already had a perforated drum in the dryer, I wonder why they didn't just use...

Which FL Washer Has Highest Temperature Boost Heater?

We still don't understand the environmental effects enzymes have when released into natural ecosystems, and they are a major cause of skin allergies. I simply couldn't use enzyme detergents if I wanted to, as I and all my family are severely allergic to them and suffer nasty skin rashes if we...

Which FL Washer Has Highest Temperature Boost Heater?

I use my 95C cycle all the time for stuff like underwear, towels and bedding, as well as heavily-sweated-into clothing... I could not cope with a machine that only heated to 60C or so! Good detergents help, but to really sanitise stuff that could have nasty bacteria etc in it, you need an...

    lg dryer drum design lawsuit

Why is it that American dryers almost always have a fixed-back drum? European designs always have a rotating drum-back fixed to the sides...

Which FL Washer Has Highest Temperature Boost Heater?

If you want bigger capacity than the Miele Little Giants, I wonder if you could get them to sell you the Octoplus machines? There's the PW5080 (8kg) washer & matching dryer (also available as a single stacked unit), and the bigger PW5105 (10kg) version (no stacker or matching dryer available)...

    Vintage Laundromats

Were those Zanussis hard-mount like the typical American front-loading commercials, or did they have suspension and a door boot?

Hoover UK Washers & Dryers - 1st Keymatic to Final Electron

Did the Logic/Ecologic family thread ever get written up? Their history is pretty confusing, what with every different fascia colour getting its own model number! Then there's the different spin speeds, 1200, 1250, 1300...

    POD Aldens Coronado laundry pairs

I notice also a Hoovermatic twin-tub there... what were the Coronado machines? GE Filter-Flos rebadged?

    A New Vintage Washroom....Version 2 Upgrade !!

Can I ask what the older Miele pair are, and what the dryer sitting atop the newer Miele is? Just goes to show, an outwardly unpromising house can still be made into something special with a bit of inspiration.

Replaced my 11 year old Whirlpool duet WFW9200SQ

Front-loader leaving black streaks on clothes? Sounds like mould growing somewhere, possibly the door boot... a good hot wash with bleach would have sorted that. But, then it sounds like the machine may also have needed new shock absorbers and maybe main bearing... replacement may have been the...

That FL is definitely Bendix, I'd estimate the date as 1951, '53 at the outside.

My hotpoint rim flo won't stop smoking

Isn't it pretty normal for old 70s electrics to smoke? All owners of old British sports-cars know you need to keep the Lucas wiring harnesses topped up with smoke, a new jar of Lucas smoke has to be bought every so often... ;-)
