Response from P&G re:Cascade Fryer BoilOut

Hey All, I sent a message to Proctor and Gamble out the Cascade Fryer Boil Out, for those who are using this in their uh-hum "fryer." At this time, there are no plans to discontinue this product in it's current formulation.

Holy Mary Mother of God...Ebay link

Combo, I'm using C7 on our indoor CT (artificial), most of them GE with the logo. These are 1950's Noma strings with the red berries. No problems what so ever, but they are also done right, with the berry holding the bulb upright on the branch. Looks absolutely incredible.

Holy Mary Mother of God...Ebay link

Exactly Frigilux, and this year was horrific on the number that burned out (End of Life). Between the tree, the garland on the mantle, and the house that's lined with C7 bulbs, they also burn of some these pink bulbs. Every year I start thinking "is this really smart?" BUT, that color is very...

    Hunter Fan Lights

If you can take a picture, I can probably help you. All my ceiling fans throughout the house are 1920's-1940's (Hunter and 2 Diehl) and have been slightly modified to accept more modern light kits out of necessity. Under most circumstances, it can be done very easily. However, the bigger...

Widescreen/HD TV; your take on it

@arbilab, Funny you should mention that. We had a 19 inch Zenith from that time frame that drove us crazy. It was a hybrid set, and the picture was constantly going out. It was always in the shop. It was the main TV set also. When that tubed Maggie came along, we almost replaced the Zenith with...

Widescreen/HD TV; your take on it

Thanks for the tips guys. If I dig the set again, I'll take the advice. I think I need to a closer look at the video output section and go through the resistors/caps again to make sure that my tube eating issue there is not related to failing components. It was rebuilt in the 80's. No joke...

Widescreen/HD TV; your take on it

@lordkenmore and dartman, It uses a 6JE6, but the bigger problem was having to replace the damper (6DW4) AND the HO tube at the same time, that was a requirement, if one went, you had to replace the other one. It was pretty much mandatory according to every tech I talked to, the set had been...

Widescreen/HD TV; your take on it

I have to laugh because until about ten years ago. I was using one of these. A fully vaccum tubed Magnavox from 1972. It was a set that a "customer" of sorts gave up on and gave it to me in 1977. I was around 8 years old. I kept it running until the Horizontal Output tube got too expensive and I...

Let's Talk About Heating Shall We?

Not to derail the thread but the reason why the article is so confusing is because it's the usual "cut emmissions C02 is bad" BS. From what I understand, many steam systems in NYC, especially Pre war systems, were purposely overrated because windows were often left open for fresh air intake. It...

Anybody else completely fed up with the long wash times

That's problem though, especially with Tgiving coming up and a very large family gathering, that GD GE Dishwasher is almost WORTHLESS because we can't prewash anything or have to plan around the washtimes. Half the time, we have to pull the pan/pans we want to use out of it and hand wash because...

How Do You Solve A Problem Like Bed Sheets?

Yeah, the Speed Queen TL just kind of cruises right along. The BIGGER issue is with the Whirlpool Duet dryer. Man alive that thing twist things up.

15 drool-worthy things you can cook in your waffle maker

I've done cinnamon rolls in my CG1. You have to be careful because it's really easy to overcook them. As long the plates are well seasoned, it should be good. However, I will say since the waffle plates come out, clean up a breeze.

    Cooking a Turkey

After cooking turkeys in a 1950's Westinghouse roaster for the last 5 years, we'll never go back to the regular oven. It's almost falling off the bone tender and moist.

    More Power To You...

@torquiosedude, That box works like this, the circuit selector switches between the two plugs. The cooking time is how long the plug that's currently in operation stays active, and the timer on the clock turns the whole thing on. This is basically the same timer that operates the Westinghouse...

Let's Talk About Heating Shall We?

Am the only that thinks those ductless units are ugly as sin? They have their place, no question about it, and usually do work very well. However, there's no way in Hell I would put on in a room that I want fix up really nice.
