    Blackstone POD

Blackstone-a couple of questions Quite an interesting machine there. I've heard of them but never actually saw one. It (I did look at this the other night) had an unusual looking basket-did it spin dry or squeeze dry? And on that neutral drain, what prevented clothes from getting caught...

    Venus, guess whats cookin' tonite?

thank you Jaune And everyone else for contributing pressure recipes-woo! We are all getting quite a collection now. Like many of you, I'm a novice at pressure cooking. I love it, but wished I had sprinted for a six quart. Well there's no law saying you can't have 2 cookers; we have 3 crockpots...

    Cascade POD

What year was this ad? I haven't seen a man inspecting the clean dishes before either. Looks like this machine was one of the first mobile-maids, but I don't really know. Saw my first one in 1960, it had a pink interior and lasted until the early 80's with regualr use.

    Higher End Kenmore's/ Elite Washers

ewwwwww! Hmmm. Cut off switches on washers during wash and rinse and spin. Maybe doing away with the spin brake on all of them now and winding up with an indexing tub.

    the Speed Queen saga

I first enccountered SQ in the service. In the barracks I lived in we had a laundry room with 3 washers and 3 dryers. The washers were all SQ and the dryers KM. I was impressed by the heavy duty look and construction of the washer and the SS solid tub. What rreally blew me away was the overflow...

    1996 Whirlpool Electric Stove

Now that's a spooky stove! Oh God, I would have freaked out. But I guess these things can happen with the digital oven controls. They're on mine to-I really like the accuracy-so far bakes like a dream. But I'm going to keeep my eye on it just in case...

A Few of Gyromatic's Bendix Collection

I remember seeing 2 gas Kenmore combos in the movie "mommy dearest", in Joan Crawfords home. I remember seeing the little blue star inside the open door of one of them in a scene where the daughter was doing laundry. And a neighbor of ours in Arizona had one also. I think that was the first...

    Frigidaire Rotating Tub

chuggin' The 58 in the see it wash videos is one of the coolest if not the coolest machine. The pause after filling, then the little electrical buzz, then the chug chug chug of the unimatic. Oh how cool is that? I just love this machine-hope to find one someday close by-in yellow. BTW I enjoy...

    THE GREATEST DETERGENT EVER SOLD

Just thought of one.. Who remembers Bonus? I believe they contained free towels and washcloths. Wasn't it a Proctor and Gamble product? I can't remember using it. I saw it in some peoples laundry rooms.

The moment you've all been waiting for...1975 Whirlpool Imperial 540 Automatic Dishwasher!!!

Austin/Venus Sorry to be responding so late about the noise of the WP-I think in general, portables are noisier than built-ins having all 4 exposed sides instead of one. Now there are certain makes and models which I'm sure are the exceptions to the rule, but I can still remember a 1970...

    what's YOUR favorite television show?

Coldspot Hardwick gradually improved its line in later years-the Romano stove was from the early 50's. Hardwicks were a no-frills stove in those days. No window in oven, you lit oven yourself, no timer no clock. But the thing weighs a ton, I know I've moved one. Magic Chef's hqs and plant were...

Vintage Tappan Stove & Original Manual

This is a great one, folks. Any of you guys living in nearby (Joliet, Ill) ought to consider this one, if you like gas. I wish to God I had room and transport for all these-I like stoves like my friends here in the group like washers(of course I love these old machines) But I do fancy myself as...

    what's YOUR favorite television show?

The Romano stove Hi Chad-I believe the stove on the show was a hardwick-something tipped me off about it. If I remember correctly it had the back removed and was painted in avocado-originally that stove was probably offered only in white-Hardwicks were a budget brand version of Magic Chef. Once...
