Quick Photos - mid 70s Avocado KM Mixer.......

Hey Guys, Thought I would post three quickly taken photos of my wife's mid 70s Kitchen Aid Mixer. They're stills but at the time they were taken a few moments ago it was in process of mixing up a cheese cake filling - Amaretto Cheese Cake.... yum, yum. My wife and her first husband bought it...

Samsung washer High level Delicate/hand wash cycle

Mark - WPDuet........ Mark, you mentioned bumping up the water level on your WP Duet - how did you accomplish the increase? I've been wanting to do that on my GE FL but have not known how to do it. Don't know if the WP and the GE are similar but would be nice to get a little increase in the...

Samsung washer High level Delicate/hand wash cycle

Water Level Issues on Modern FL Machines........ I can see where the lower level on the wash is good, especially on smaller loads, because of the tumble action (the FL agitator if you will) which is what gets the cleaning acomplished however, I do think that higher water levels for the rinses...

    Big Boy Coin-Op Frontloaders

Bob........ Now you could do some heavy duty laundry in those machines. I remember a local laundromat in the north part of Knoxville where we lived in the late 90s having the triple load machines but the interesting one was the quad load - they only had one of those and you could hardly get...

Duane...... on the 63 Kenmore 600 I have a 1963 Kenmore 600 here at the house - found it about a year ago in the Nashville,TN area (I live in Knoxville) from a Craig's List ad. Lady there was wanting to get rid of it and it had been lightly used over the years and was in immaculate condition...

Pictures from the warehouse visit today

Gordon...... Was noticing the different agitators and noted what is, I believe, a Penta-Vane on the last few photos? The Penta-Swirl was one of my favorites of the agitators.... would a Penta-Swirl fit my KM 600? I like to play around with things on occasion but am a purist for the most part...

That Kenmore 600 Dryer......... I always wondered what the matching dryer to my 600 washer looked like and they are identical excepting that the Turquoise oval on the right side of the timer control is blank excpet the writing on it otherwise that's the same control panel as the washer...

    Rebuilding Westinghouse laundromats

Guys that's the set!!!! Above in the 1956 Ad is a picture of the '56 Washer and Dryer Deluxe set - that is exactly the machine that my grandmother had that used to stand in front of with a flashlight just mezmorized at the wash/spin/rinse/spin action. Someone in another thread was asking what...

    westinghouse laundromat

Regarding those Westy pumps........ That's the same type that's on my SpaceMates front loader and it runs directly off the motor when engaged. That thing would suck the face right off your head if you got it in the way (figure of speech) - that's one powerful pump. That little WW SpaceMates...

    Question on White-Westinghouse SpaceMates..........

John....... I hadn't realized that tops from current Frigidares could be used on a WW dryer - nice to know. My SpaceMates pair is early 80s I believe - washer is the 3 belt type with the potato pully and drum turns only in clocwise direction - no reverse tumble on this model and the dryer is...

    Question on White-Westinghouse SpaceMates..........

Does anyone know where I can find the mounting parts (kit?) for attaching the dryer on top of the washer? I'm needing to make a space for a future acquisition and I've seen the SpaceMates stacked before and wondered if there was a kit or parts to do the stack. Also, if you know where I can...

    westinghouse laundromat

One thing on the quite running......... I don't have my dream Laundromat (yet!) but the White-Westinghouse SpaceMates front loader that I do have is one of the quitest running machines I have ever had. Like Robert said - fill flume is somewhat noisy and the spin cycles are a little noisy and...

    westinghouse laundromat

Circle W...... I think the big difference between the '55 Deluxe and the '56 Deluxe was the control knobs were different in '56 - they were a gold color disk with a long grab that was used as the pointer to show the cycle progress and the glass window was beveled around the perimeter. Other...

    westinghouse laundromat

Thanks Robert! The close ups were just like standing in front of my grandmother's '56 Deluxe. I'm always checking Craigslist, Ebay etc on the lookout for a '56 Deluxe but, as mentioned before, it's going to be a long search..... I do have a place reserved for it in the garage - going to stack...
