China, Silverware, Silver Sets, Dinnerware etc.......

Oh neat!!! This is just what I was hoping you guys would do! Thanks Sam! I think both are beautiful..... the Shop-N-Save incentive pieces your mother bought is exactly how my grandmother (dad's side) got her china. Back in 1936 when her and my grandfather married they had very little in the way...

China, Silverware, Silver Sets, Dinnerware etc.......

Hey guys, as I mentioned on my last post on the Mac and Cheese thread I thought it would be interesting to have a thread about vintage (even newer) china, silverware, silver sets, dinnerware etc that you have and maybe some background about it. How did you find it/aquire it, was it passed down...

    Dinner tonight..mac and cheese

Actually have an idea for something...... I'll start a new thread for china, silverware, silver sets or other dinnerware that is of a vintage nature or even newer. Think it would be interesting to see what other things are out there that we're interested in that way we can get back to the...

    Dinner tonight..mac and cheese

Fortunately...... all I need is a cup and saucer replaced - not really found anyone else who has this type of replacements for older china patterns. Yes, I saw the estate set.... it's nice but... costly - you'd probably have to well off enough to own an estate to get it - lol! They do have...

    Dinner tonight..mac and cheese

One other thing........ I'll post more on this later in the fall as we get back to the Thanksgiving, Advent and Christmas time but thought some might find this interesting. This photo is from Christmas 2007 as well - it was our Advent wreath and this was made Christmas morning and was set up...

    Dinner tonight..mac and cheese

Speaking of bakeware and other things........ Bob, I know we're still in the Eastertide season but I decided to put this up when the Pfalzgraf talk started. This is not bakeware but 1960 Flintridge China that was my mother's set from her wedding gift registry. My parents were married...

    The Westy Space Mates

I did get the vids made....... However, I've got to do some editing to pare down the time on them - a little long for YouTube. Will let folks know as soon as they're ready.

    The Westy Space Mates

Thanks James..... That's good to know - I ended up being a bit under the weather this weekend..... didn't even make church service this morning. I've got a ton (or so it seems) of laundry to wash tomorrow and I'm planning on doing vids of the Westy and the Kenmore 600. Hope to be feeling up to it.

Also on the online trading..... If you do this - have you had good success, so-so or not so good? Thanks!

Does anyone here do any online trading?

Hey guys, I've been looking into the possibility of doing some online trading (stocks, funds etc) and wonder if anyone here does this and if so I was wondering what brokerage company you use (Scottrade, Etrader etc) and if you have any suggestions, advice, instruction..... comments or snide...

    The Westy Space Mates

Jason..... Checked your link...... the photos did not load up. I think I'm going to need to upload them again and, as I told James, I'll put them under a new thread rather than trying to update the older one and I'll use the new thread for the video links to when I get them made. There may be...

    The Westy Space Mates

James...... Hadn't realized the photos were not there - hadn't checked archives lately however, I will upload the set again under a new thread rather than updating the old one. Will try to do that this evening (Sat. 04/10/10). I will get full length vids up on YouTube of both the Kenmore 600...

    The Westy Space Mates

Tom, I agree on the spin between the 1st/2nd rinse....... That would be my only complaint - that spin really needs to be there. Normal cycle runs as follows: Wash (up to 16 mins). Drain. Spray Rinse - Tumbling at regular wash speed/drain open. Spin. 1st Rinse. Drain. Final Rinse. Drain. Final...

    The Westy Space Mates

You're right Paul....... She will get used to them..... I wouldn't change a thing though whether I had the machines or not! She's my one and only and these 14 years have been most enjoyable and I look forward to another 14 years and more! The response to this odd hobby has been interesting and...

    The Westy Space Mates

Clarification......... Guys, my wife is not mean or anything like that.... the kicking my A$$ thing in the previous was reference mainly to her concern of us having spent, for us, a small fortune for the GE set and my using the vintage machines about as much as the GE washer now. As I said the...

    The Westy Space Mates

I have been running the Westy Space Mates washer over the last week off and on and I really think it does a better job cleaing laundry than does my big 2008 GE front load machine. I have really enjoyed running this little machine and once I get it leveled correctly on firm footing this thing is...

    Stations of the Cross......

Ross..... That is so neat..... I have a great love for the high church worship - smells and bells.... the entire lot! Keep it up, we need some sanity back in our corporate worship in the the church again. Does not the God of the universe deserve our best? I think so......

    Stations of the Cross......

Ross.... Congrats to the church on the A.E. Skinner organ.... hope the company that has restored it has done a good job! In the day A.E. Skinner was the Cadillac of pipe organs in the US - they were built in Boston, MA. What a difference, in a very good way, it will bring to the music at your...
