Early KitchenAid KDS-21: The Holy Grail Has Finally Been Found

Yep! The only thing I ever replaced on my 1985 GE fridge was the lightbulb 20 years ago.

Indeed! They're built like some high school kid designed and assembled them.

Early KitchenAid KDS-21: The Holy Grail Has Finally Been Found

If I'm correct, my KDC-19 has a rinse before and after the main wash. And at the end does a Sani Heat final rinse. Start - Fill - Pause Water heater -Sani heat Pre-wash - drain Fill - prewash drain Fill - main wash - drain Fill - rinse - drain Pause - fill - Sani Heat Final rinse - drain Fan...

Is this old Maytag dryer good?

Beware! With all that toilet paper on it, it looks like it's gonna take a crap! 😮

    Vintage Appliance Advertisements: Part Thirty-one

I've got the non-clock version of that Zenith radio with the "circle of sound" bottom speaker. It's up on a shelf in my garage so I can enjoy my favorite classic rock on WMGK 102.9 FM.

    Samsung wf56h9100ag/a2 Washer Story

I guess you're not privy to that brand's terrible reputation. Personally, I wouldn't have wasted my time or money on that hunk of junk machine. Samsung (we call it SamSuck) has a lousy reputation for their products. Tv's, washers, stereos, etc etc etc. - all garbage, all have bad reviews. Add to...

Window fans, do you use them in the cooler months?

I got a cool (pun intended) lakewood window fan from a friend about 15 years ago. My friend said it stopped working and was gonna toss it out. Seems that the chinese electronic control touch panel crapped out, so I tore that out and replaced it with a traditional 3-position rotary switch for the...

Window fans, do you use them in the cooler months?

I honestly like those original 40's type ceramic tiles. I like to keep my home looking cozy, with a vintage look, traditional furniture, with a few eclectic pieces here and there... some of the better Ikea stuff too. The tiles hold up great, easy to clean, and they're perfectly installed, so why...

    I turned on my Furnace

Jog, eh? Well, I just sit my butt on the sofa, no "jogging" for me! My heat triggers on at the (wintertime) temp I have it set to, and stays within one degree of that. In the spring/summertime, I got the handy remote control on the coffee table to kick on the AC in the dining room wall. So yes...

Bosco was ALWAYS my favorite too! Still is!

    I turned on my Furnace

Nah, I'm good to go with my system. I use a newer Honeywell programmable thermostat to tigger the heat, and my gas bills are not too bad in winter.

Early KitchenAid KDS-21: The Holy Grail Has Finally Been Found

My basic 14cf top freezer GE fridge is still working perfectly since 1985, so it's now 40 years old.

Window fans, do you use them in the cooler months?

My house was built in 1940 as listed on my deed. It's a brick 18 foot wide rowhome with a rear garage below the dining room. Also, a backyard that can store two cars, and a front yard 30x18 feet wide. Interesting story: When remodeling the bathroom back in 2008, behind the bathroom mirror I saw...

Let's talk jeans. Love them or hate them?

Yes, I've seen that idiotic behavior too. It's very ghetto-style, and not attractive at all.

Window fans, do you use them in the cooler months?

Indeed, those motors run hot. - running at about 140 watts on low speed. I've taken it apart and did a full servicing and lubing of it when I first got it. She runs like a champ whenever I decide to use it.

Jeez! I can picture you shopping at the supermarket in just boxer shorts! 😮

Window fans, do you use them in the cooler months?

In a properly constructed home, the window opening is framed across the top with a metal beam support. At least MY home is. In fact all doors and windows, and my garage have metal I-beam supports. As to your other complaints, all of them these days are now corrected, right down to Low-E...

    KDS-20 Leak

If the main pump housing is anything like my KDC19, the top housing is attached by 4 screws. Lifting that top off, the O ring may be bad. upon replacement, I'd put a thin bead of Permatex RED gasket sealer in the groove that it sits in, and then a thin bead where it mates to the bottom. The...

Hobart Presents: The KitchenAid Energy Saver V Dishwashers - 16mm Film

Here's yet another "A.I." article that seems to verify how that crap is being used to mess with kids. I told people, if it can be abused, it will be.
