@ lakewebsterkid That's exactly what I do!  I use 1 tsp. of STPP in the main wash too!

@ vacerator This machine does not have the Extra Scrub option since it came from Lowes; however, I just used the Auto cycle to see how it would handle all that gunk and it performed beautifully!

@ appnut I'd have to say that the flatware basket is one minor drawback.  My flatware is Ricci Impero.  The handles are rather large and won't fit into the narrow slots.  I had to use a box cutter and enlarge half the slots!  Other than that, it's performance is impressive.

As far as top loaders go, contemporary GE suspension systems are about the worst I've seen.  The vibration is horrible during spin.  Not sure why.  The best that I've seen is made by Speed Queen.  My no. 2 might be Whirlpool DD and no. 3 would be Maytag DC.

The Hotpoint is a knock off of the GE washing machine.  She will HATE it.  One of the worst things about them is the spin cycle and the horrible vibration!
