    Looking at this AEG Washer

These were the last range of the German designed AEGs with the stainless steel outer tub. Brilliant machines and perform very well - I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. I have both a mid range 61300 and TOL 86720 from this range - very flexible and wash and rinse very well, with fairly little...

brand new Bosch Home Professional tumble dryer made weird knocking noises. What was the problem ?

Some pictures of the filter system on the T1. One feature I forgot to mention and that I use a lot too is steam smoothing - it’s great for shirts, just hang dry afterwards and has meant my iron has not been used now for years :-) Jon

brand new Bosch Home Professional tumble dryer made weird knocking noises. What was the problem ?

Miele dryers I have the TOL M Touch TCR780, which was a warranty replacement for a TCR860 which had a warped drum. It still makes the ticking noises, although I was assured it wouldn’t as it supposedly has a “Silent” drum (in reality it’s no different to the TCR860 I had before or the one my...

    First Miele dishwasher software upgrade

Adam, The last Miele engineer I had just before Christmas said that remote updates still weren’t available in the UK on laundry here. Rather annoying as remote update capability is available on most other manufacturers, and I believe some cooking appliances. [this post was last edited...

Miele USA W1's Water Inlet Error After Prewash

The Allergy programmable function adds an extra rinse as standard to most programmes. I have it programmed in so I get 3 rather than 2 standard rinses, with the option of a 4th with extra rinse. It also means you get an extra rinse when using Single Wash which doesn’t allow you to select it...

    Miele TWF640 - Drying temps

I am glad you have started this thread, and pleased to hear that your dryer works for you. I don’t use the dryer much as I prefer to naturally dry laundry, but always put towels in the dryer so I had the opportunity to dig out my temperature probes and test it this week. Attached below are the...

Fisher & Paykel DH9060FS1 9Kg Heat Pump Tumble Dryer Review: Truly innovative technology

I have measured with two different temperature probes and that is indeed the reading you get especially towards the end of the cycle, and even more so if you have dried loads in quick succession. Regards to shrinkage in the dryer, I think we shall agree to disagree but I can only post based on...

Fisher & Paykel DH9060FS1 9Kg Heat Pump Tumble Dryer Review: Truly innovative technology

Henene, Posting from my own extensive experience from owning both machines. The T1 gets hotter than the T8860WP ever did and unfortunately does shrink clothes - even with Gentle Tumble enabled it will reach over 65°. Laundry is hot to the touch when finished, whereas with the Edition 111 there...

Fisher & Paykel DH9060FS1 9Kg Heat Pump Tumble Dryer Review: Truly innovative technology

Congratulations on the F&P dryer - looks fab and seems to tick a lot of boxes. A friend of mine has just got the matching washer and is very impressed, I think they look very smart and also great that the washers offer hot fill facility which makes sense nowadays with combi boilers and solar hot...

    Suds lock

Hi, The suds cooling will add water to the drum after a 75 or 90 degree wash. The Unilever formulations have recently been reformulated here so I wonder if they have done the same there hence why you are now getting different results. Jon

Siemens or Schulthess - Opinions wanted

Just to add - the Siemens powerSpeed 59’ cycle is not much better than the Miele QPW either - and seems pretty redundant as the Mixed fabrics cycle washes a larger load in the same time but with interim spins and a max speed final spin.

Siemens or Schulthess - Opinions wanted

The Miele Powerwash cycle is next to useless in honesty, only peaks at max spin before slowing down again and the rinsing is abysmal as it doesn’t drain completely between the rinses and also recirculates water from the previous bath onto the load. Mixed Fabrics on BSH does a much better job in...

How long does your oven need to preheat?

Our Neff Slide and Hide takes about 5 minutes if that to preheat (although I’ve not timed it). By the time you have prepared the food to go in it has reached temperature. If you’re being lazy and doing a freezer dinner or pizza, you can add food whilst it’s preheating. Jon

Siemens or Schulthess - Opinions wanted

Hi Tom, I am that one with both the Siemens iQ700 and Miele WCR on YouTube. I used to swear by Miele, but the iQ700 is a much more flexible, far quieter and better performing machine. Most loads are clean using Mixed Load in an hour, if more heavily soiled then I use Cottons VarioSpeed which...

New: Bosch 4D Vortex wash System, 10 KG, 1600 Spin Washing Machine

Glad you’re enjoying your new Bosch, Matt. We’ve had the Siemens version since early February and are really liking ours too. The Mixed Fabrics cycle is the most used here - 40 deg wash and 1600 spin in 45 mins, or 60 deg and 1600 spin in an hour. The spinning results are fantastic - best I’ve...

    Miele straying away from god

Henrik, The 7 and 8kg models have had these drums since the W1 Classics were launched in 2017. Drum volume is 59.5l. Jon

help to stack a dryer in top of a washing machine

You will be fine with no stacking kit. All of my vintage machines have been stacked without a kit, some with a rubber anti slip mat for kitchen drawers for added traction. Before that, I ran a miele washer and dryer for years stacked without a kit - as did my parents in their previous house. My...

Mile 1215 worth it in the end? Hello new W1

I have extensive experience with Miele heat pump dryers, and I find drying times average from an hour to an hour and a half for a normal mixed load, and between an hour and 15 and hour 45 for a thicker load of towels. A half load will be done in around 40 minutes. I have compared running times...

    Whirlpool Self Cleaning Condenser?

Looks like a Hotpoint! The matching washer is also a rebadged Hotpoint. http://https//www.otto.de/p/bauknecht-waschmaschine-super-eco-7418-9-kg-1400-u-min-685862423/#variationId=685863440-M48

    Introducing The AEG 46200 TopLader

AEG “Energy saving programme Energy saving runs at 67 degrees, but with a longer programme length to give the same results as a 95 degree boilwash whilst using less energy. Earlier versions had a position on the timer and/or an energy saving button you would select alongside ‘E’ on the...
